4.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive coverage, 11 Nov 2006
Well set out and devised. Useful adjunct for on the floor clinical teaching in the emergency department. Good crammer for exams and for docs in training to get a handle on basic radiology. Could be improved with a little more information pertaining to CT and MRI as it is becoming an increasingly common request for ED physicians to review these scans without a report

5.0 out of 5 stars The handbook to beat all handbooks, 26 Oct 2006
Ever wondered how you make a cake? You follow the step by step instructions. Sure, you may add a little zest or a little je ne sais quoi, but in essence you just follow the instructions. That is what this handbook of emergency medicine has set out to achieve. It is now in it's fifth (and by far the best) edition, and sticks to the essential 'handbook' principle of serving up didactic, relevant and useful information in a readily digestible format. The information is highlighted by bullet points in a logical and sequential format providing the reader with a methodical approach to even the most unpalatable of emergency situations. This book does not rely on reams of information packed into a small font on easily ripped pages as its competitors seem to prefer; but instead relies providing the essential framework to deal with ALL medical, surgical, paediatric and toxicological emergencies faced both on the wards and in the emergency department. This book is a winner, five stars all the way

This review is from: Toxicology Handbook (Paperback)
Simple, didactic and easy to use. This is the ultimate handbook for all Emergency trainees and specialists; General Practitioners and medical students. All you ever need to know, or wanted to know about treating toxicological emergencies. Brilliant.
