Life, cricket and everything, 27 Dec 2010
I've been fortunate to see a pre-publication copy of this book. It's very funny, meticulously researched, and extremely informative about significant events in cricket over the last forty years or so. More than that though, it's a thoroughly engaging account of the place of cricket in the author's life. Cricket lovers, or lovers of any sport, will be able to identify with the emotional impact sport can have, while enjoying the trivia, ephemera, and reminders of matches, people and the incredible happenings that make up cricket. People less intersted in cricket will still enjoy the human story it contains. An excellent gift for any cricketers you know who already have all the linseed oil and bat tape they will ever need.
