4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Jazz Playing Cats, 26 Sep 2003
This review is from: The Aristocats [DVD] (DVD)
A brilliant film featuring a very charismatic alley cat named Thomas O'Mallie and his jazz playing friends. This film is greatly entertaining and some of the music will have your toes tapping.
Wonderful family entertainment.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappoint for all but the most basic beginner., 26 Sep 2003
I looked forward to receiving this book, having had it recommended to me by a respected writer. Unfortunately, I found most of the advice that it offered both obvious and trite. Despite reading it cover to cover, I found nothing particular in it that I did not already know.
There are far better screenwriting books out there including Syd Field's "The Screenwriter's Workbook" and "Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting" as well as many valuable resources on the Internet.
Only buy this book, if you are brand new to screenwriting and know absolutely nothing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Memories for Your Children, 26 Sep 2003
I am now 51 years old and still remember many of these wonderful children's poems, despite not having read these book now for almost 20 years.
If you want your children to have the sort of memories they will cherish and the sort of children's poems that they will learn by heart and repeat over to their children and their grandchildren, then this book and its sister volume "When We Were Very Young" are a must.
Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful film that really makes you feel good. An excellent, storyline with a moral theme, wonderful fight scene, great comedy and a combination of medieval scenery and inspiring modern rock anthems that raised the spirits and swept the audience along with the plot.

4.0 out of 5 stars For those who truly love fairytales, 11 Dec 2002
The fairy tales that many of us heard as children are but the most recent versions of far older and less gentle stories. Designed, often, to make a pointed moral comment, their themes encompass all of human life: romance, betrayal, jealousy, revenge and even death. For those who began their interest as children and would now value a book that they could use both as a basis for for storytelling and a source for more in-depth study, this is essential reading.
These stories are written in the style of "foundational text" which means that you can take each as a basis, retelling the tale, in your own words, to suit the particular listener. Every one has an introduction which explores sources, details of some of the other versions of the story and offers a modern interpretation. The annotations also provide some very interesting insights, if you are keen to go deeper; however, these are more suitable for adult study than as a basis of discussion with children.
The only real disappointment are the pictures, which are rather old-fashioned and very small.

5.0 out of 5 stars Conscious Dreaming the Shamanic Way, 11 Dec 2002
This review is from: How to Dream Magically (Paperback)
This excellent book will provide you with all you need as an introduction to the fascinating world of the shaman. Simply written, and with pleasant practical exercises throughout, it introduces all the basic shamanic concepts and helps you to start experiencing the real benefits of 'walking between worlds'. It talks you through the practicalities of shamanic dreaming, allowing you to start to remember, live and benefit from your dreams in much the same way that you already benefit from your waking life. More importantly, it teaches you to take responsibility for your own experiences and ask the right questions, making this a very safe and protected experience, rather than merely giving you vague information and then dropping you in at the deep end. Instead, through reading and practical exercises, your mind will begin to open up to the wonder of the dream state, allowing you to dream consciously and savour what you experience in this Many Coloured Land.
