from the online description i knew i was getting a good book, but that did not prepare me for how good. since holidaying in greece and crete i have developed a love of their food and wished to be able to cook it myself. i have bought a couple of greek cookbooks and one cretean and found some great recipes in them, but something was missing. these books seemed to be small snippets of a bigger picture. in this book i have found not only the bigger picture but an album of pictures. the book is well laid out with clear instructions for each stage of the process. it also has a number of great photos. these things you would expect find in most cookbooks. what you would normally not find in most is the complete variety of recipes in one book. after looking through this book i was amazed at the similarites between greek recipes and others from say north africa and morocco. each version with slight changes. so if you are looking for a greek cookbook that does not just open up that countries best food, but also opens up a whole regions best. look no further. why buy a couple of books when this one will cover all the bases. i would recommend this book to anyone and have already decided to make it my xmas present to a few of my foodie friends.
