The title says it all really. After one of 2001's best albums 'Rodeo And Picasso' Recover return with a more accessible E.P,gone is the screaming and artery bursting noise. But this isnt bad because these guys seem to have a midas touch. Instantly more accessible than the L.P for dim witted music fans, its reminissant of a number of modern day post hardcore acts. Songs lilke 'Push,Push' obtain enough quality in them to make the listener feel alive. Get the album first,be blown away, get the E.P,listen to the talent they have, and then wonder what they are gunna do next. Plus they are awesome live!! hehe

With the glut of 'screamo' bands making steady progress in the states it seems like these bands are a dime a dozen. But Contender add something new to the mix, basically they are a punk band with pop sensibilities with a screaming co-singer. Its not really abrasive screaming and it sits nicely with the Kap's voice making it as easy listening as screaming can be! Imagine if you will Junction 18 colliding with The Used and you are kinda there. Hot songs include 'Last Of A Living Breed' 'Chalk Bored Outline' and 'All My New Friends Make Old Mistakes'. Id urge any fan of melodic punk to buy this cd,the screaming makes it a lot more listenable, without the screaming and the hardcore influence Contender would be run of the mill but it breaks them away from that phrase. The only words that can be said for Co&Ca are 'wow'. I would really like to see if there is a better debut album ever released that this. It has something for everyone and the group as musicians are as tight as hell. There are no real direct influences you can draw from this band but it honestly caters for everyone. Sergio's voice could put some people off this recording as it is very high but he has an outstanding range of vocals, ranging from extremely high to a scream. Just go buy, simple as
