Explains the tapping technique which is fairy easy to learn, but first you need to 'identify your pain'. Identifying your pain is often the hardest part and the book doesn't touch this aspect. I suspect that this would be the job of a therapist.

Love this album. Arrived midday today and I've played it 4 times already. Doesn't have the raw edge of something like the Lumineers but their polished performance and seemingly effortless harmony singing lift it above the mundane. Instrumentation is intricate enough to be interesting and contribute to the feel yet lets the vocals shine. They write great songs themselves but the 18 track European release includes 6 bonus tracks including some fantastic covers. Notably a soulful 'I Want You Back' and lovely version of 'Dance Me To The End Of Love'.
A country album with soul but not a Soul album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Impressive, 26 April 2013
Very impressed by these diminutive speakers. Ideal to leave in a bedroom or office to use with a portable device such as phone or laptop with Bluetooth. Two seperate speakers so you get a good stereo spread. Could do with an extension link cable so that you could put one each side of a double bed though. Pairing is easy. Just tell your device to look for new connections (comes up as Jembe) and enter the passkey 0000- takes about 10 seconds to link up and fade up without a click. Once that's done they link up automatically even after powerdown. Range with my Palm Tro is around 20ft with a brick wall inbetween.
I'm a professional sound man so I'm a bit pernickity when it comes to sound. Sound of the Jembes is great for such small enclosures. Not hifi, but well balanced. They lack the sparkle of hifi speakers but have a reasonably extended smooth treble which is missing from many single driver systems and also a good kick in the bass which extends to lower frequencies than you'd expect. They're not loud enough for a party or a factory floor, but more than adaquate for a bedroom or office. The sound breaks up a bit when you whack the volume up to max but at least that means that they're sensivive enough for those occasional Youtube or Vimeo videos with low sound volume.
So impressed I'm going to buy another pair.

Looks good and is very comfortable though a bit light for winter. Nice slim fit. No way would I describe it as heavy as one reviewer has.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pullover by name, pullover by nature, 19 Mar 2013

Bought this as a casual mid layer. Unfortunately the fit is so snug that it is a job to get much more than bare arms into the sleeves. Otherwise a nice top. Lightweight fleece with a fleecy look outside as well as inside

4.0 out of 5 stars Snug, 19 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Although soft and fleecy on the inside, the outside is rather shiny (a bit like Lycra). For a base layer this is handy, as other clothing slips over it quite easily. Snug fit, similar to a cyclist's racing jersey but without the pockets or extra length in the back. Plenty of length in the arms.

Don't know why this record escaped my attention till now. It really is an interesting album.
It's produced by Mike Marshall so as you might imagine it sounda polished and lively. With Todd Phillips, Edgar Meyer and Jim Kerwin contributing on bass there is a good solid foundation to some lovely ad lib soloing by the rest of the instrumentalists.
The opening tune "The Little Clown" Has the feel of a Breton tune and reminds me of the sound of Alan Stivel and his steel strung harp. Apt that one of the instrumentalists is a French accordionist, Odile Lavault. Many of the tracks have a strong contribution from Joe Craven on percussion. The whole album has various blends of Irish, Breton, Bluegrass and a hint of Peruvian (Minnow Dance).
Overall, Well worth a listen.

Oops. Bought this because I'd heard the stuff he did with Matt Flinner and Davir Grier. Unfortunately the CD is a bit too jazzy for me. I'll give it a few more listens in case I find the key, but although the playing seems excellent, It sound like noodling about to me.

Great collection of songs from this young prodigy. Good production and some thrilling musicianship, notably some sensitive amd melodic contributions from Stuart Duncan and the breathtaking instrumentals in 'Floating in the Balance' and 'The Old Smithy'.
Unfortunately Sarah's lack of dynamic control means that some notes in her range boom out on some songs. Gary Paczosa has tried hard to even things out but there is only so much he could do. When she sings in her upper range her voice is tender and quite breathy but in the mid range it's a bit more heavy handed. This for me spoils some of the best songs on the album.
Most of the songs are self penned. 'Run Away', 'Here Nor There' and 'Gypsy' standing shouder to shoulder with the Radiohead cover 'The Tourist' which has a great bit of violin by Gabe Witcher.
But for the vocal this would have earned at least four stars. Nevertheless a great achievment for such a young musician.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not your usual cover band, 22 Nov 2010
This review is from: Hymns in the Key of 666 (Audio CD)
I've heard many reviews by metaheads slating this band. This is wrong, as they don't do cover versions in the usual sense. They are rather an acoustic band who re-interprate some excellent songs, originally written and performed by metal bands, in the way Eva Cassidy re-interprated well known songs. Even if they know the original version, it will take many people some time before they realise that they're listening to the same words and tune.
It just goes to show that these are quality songs which don't rely purely on the production to make them sound good.
If you like your music acoustic there's a good chance you'll love this album.
