5.0 out of 5 stars And yet some people's voices are extraordinary, 8 Feb. 2014
This review is from: Everyone Is Ordinary (Audio CD)
Tracey is probably best known for appearing in Thea Gilmore's backing group and that's how I came across this exceptional album.

She is blessed with a beautifully clear and powerful voice and her songs are intelligent, subtle, melodic and moving. Would recommend this in particular for someone who appreciates Laura Marling, Ron Sexsmith, Kirsty Maccoll, Teddy Thompson or Tracey Thorne.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I was 18 again!, 14 Jun. 2002
This review is from: Holes In The Wall (Audio CD)
Don't suppose I'll ever fully understand the hit and miss nature of the music industry but this magnificent debut album deserves to be much more widely owned and loved. I'm old enough to be the father of these guys but this is timeless music.
Haven't felt this excited since the REM debut. Get in early and impress your friends - The Electric Soft Parade will be massive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sonny - I'm making eyes at you, 3 Mar. 2002
This review is from: OUTWARD BOUND (Audio CD)
If you've found your way this far you almost certainly have a taste in music beyond the bland and disposal. This is amongst only a very select few albums that I'd give 5 stars to. If you like steamy southern blues and articulate guitar playing then buy this album. The final track will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
It's a triumph - do I make myself clear?

5.0 out of 5 stars Glorious!, 14 July 2001
This review is from: Jordan: The Comeback (Audio CD)
Ask around amongst enough music afficianados for their favourite album and there's a good chance that Jordan will be mentioned.
That's because it's breathtaking music. Soaring melodies, gorgeous harmonies, moving, intelligent lyrics - this is definitely music for grown-ups. Which is probably why it hasn't achieved the profile it deserves amongst magazine music critics.
But if you enjoy David Gray, Travis, Radiohead, Aztec Camera, Nick Drake or any thoughtful, melancholy music don't miss out on this magnificent, landmark album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Lucinda, 13 Mar. 2001
This review is from: Sweet Old World (Audio CD)
Must disagree with the Amazon review this time - this is a classic, the peak of Lucinda's career so far and widely appreciated in the critical community. Little Angel, Little Brother is one of the most poignant songs you'll ever hear and the title track is a beautifully haunting melody.
If you're in tune with Country/Folk music and considering a purchase, hesitate no longer - you need this album.
