What can I say , it's a plastic sheet and it protects the screen of your iPad mini . There was 2 in the pack so a good buy overall and easily fitted . Far cheaper here than from the many specialist mobile repair outlets around these days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another genius HBO comedy, 21 Dec. 2013
I had to write a review about this brilliant comedy series from HBO. The studio that have given us other gems like curb your enthusiasm.
The story revolves around a character that is a former major league baseball player named Kenny Powers , played brilliantly by Danny mcbride, who suffers a major fall from grace , ending up teaching P.E at a school.

The comedy comes from the fish out of water scenario of a former pampered superstar with an enormous ego having a major fall from grace and having to work menial jobs intended for "ordinary" people like a teacher or later a car salesman. Some of the encounters along the way are comedy gold as Kenny struggles to adapt to living life like an everyday schmo .

The series is exec produced by Will ferrell who cameos as a car sales man that in later series turns into Kennys arch nemesis . What is great about Kenny is that he's not afraid to tell things as they are, few characters on tv are forthright regardless of the concequences, very much like Larry David in the aforementioned Curb your enthusiasm.

This boxset contains all episodes from the 1st 3 seasons, the 4th and final season is released to buy next year . My favourite season is the 1st as after that it loses a little of its shock value when Kenny goes to mexico. But if youve never seen an episode I wouldnt hold off from buying this as the price is well worth it. And you will likely find yourself dipping into it again & again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Meh . . . it's not as funny as the hype suggests., 2 Dec. 2012
This review is from: Ted: Extended Edition [DVD] (DVD)
I bought this from Hmv and was really looking forward to watching as the premise of a foul mouth talking teddy bear sounded great.

Alas the novelty soon wore off, the constant barrage of obscenities that passed as jokes weren't funny and I soon got fed up of hearing Peter Griffin's voice (voiced by Mcfarlane) coming out of a bear. And the lack of any sort of plot caused me to start losing focus, and start wishing that this was Family guy I was watching instead.

Basically This was just like pretty much any Seth Rogen comedy ever made, only in this film, the bear was playing the part of Seth Rogen - if you've ever watched his films you'll know what I mean, and you'll also know to stay well clear. Avoid.

5.0 out of 5 stars 10 stars!, 7 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Just thought I'd share my thoughts on this latest release after receiving it a few days back.

Firstly it's great to watch season 3 of my all-time favourite show on DVD; after many years of waiting for the 2nd and 3rd seasons to be released, apparently due to legal issues with some of the music. So kudos to Fabulous films for resolving whatever issues there were and bringing out the final seasons.(season 4 is out on 29/10) why Universal failed to capitalise on their goldmine of a TV archive earlier I can't imagine.

What Is great about the Equalizer is that its one of the few TV series along with Law and order, that is filmed on location in pre-disneyfied New York City so you see some really gritty locations. Theres none of this phoney green screen business like with NYPD blue or CSI NY which are filmed on a lot in LA. And episodes aside from a couple of two-part episodes, are single storylines. - no multiple season story arcs that drag on.

This season like the other 3, consists of 22 episodes , including a couple of two parters, and theres a huge number of famous guest stars in this season such as Telly savalas, Robert Mitchum, John Heard, Macaulay Culkin, Vincent donofrio, Jaimie Sheridan, Michael Moriarty: all from law and order, and Richard Jordan plus regulars Zabka, Margolis and scarabajka.

This was the season where Edward unfortunately suffered a Heart attack during filming, so some of the episodes he doesn't feature as much- Richard jordan takes over the mantle as another old colleague of mCcalls to do his equalizing for him, and does a pretty good job, Inner view , featuring Jordan is one of my favourite episodes.

The Picture and sound overall is pretty good, but there is some fuzzyness and washed out colours on some of the episodes - I have all 4 seasons recorded about 12 years ago in excellent quality on VHS from the superb and now sadly defunct Granada plus channel to compare with, but overall there is some improvement with the picture on a few episodes , and sound quality is excellent.

The box is still the same fat vhs size plastic case as the previous season release and you get 22 x 45 minute episodes plus the episode guide booklet- which is a simple but nice touch and is sadly lacking in other releases.
So overall another great job from fabulous films and keep up the good work with season 4.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious comedy , one of the year's best!, 28 Sept. 2012
I bought this on release from HMV and was torn between the BR version at 18 or the exclusive HMV dvd version at only 10 with a bonus disc of extras plus standard digital copy and slipcase.

Well I plumped for the Exclusive Hmv 2 disc version, contained in the box was the theatrical version of the fim (80 mins) plus the extended version of the film (97 mins) plus various outtakes/deleted scenes and a Larry King interview on disc 1 , then on disc 2 you get more deleted scenes plus music video. You even get a Wadiyan banknote included which is a nice touch.

Well the film itself was hilarious, I was frequently laughing all the way through, Baren Coen plays a Dictator called General Aladeen, who delights at having people executed at the drop of a hat, who is overthrown whilst on holiday in NYC so ends up working at a local store.

The Film itself is not a mockumentary in the same vein as Borat, and the plot is very thin, but the gags come pretty thick and fast and there's a lot of hilarious sight gags as well, one example is a rogue bodyguard of general Aladeen who has some very interesting weapons at her disposal which she uses to kill!

The film definately seems to have been influenced by the 1st Austin Powers film, with its clever dialogue and interesting villains - so if you like that or Team America: world police, you will more than likely love this. And Baron Coen shows that he is one of the best comic actors in recent years, breathing new life into a comedy genre that had been virtually killed off with consistently god awful films from the likes of Seth "I'm just playing my unfunny obnoxious self" Rogen and Adam "I'll film anything and call it a movie" Sandler.

To sum up I really enjoyed it and who knows, like the Austin powers films they may turn it into a franchise which would be great.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best comedy films in recent years, Excellent blu ray, 29 July 2012
Will ferrell stars along with John C Reilly as an unlikely odd couple of 40-something singletons still living at home with their Mom Nancy and Dad -Robert, who are forced to become stepbrothers when Robert And Nancy get married meaning the clan is forced to move in with each other.

The humour comes from the fact Ferrell and Reilly play the roles as if they were 10 year old kids , and it is as if they could well be as theyre still living at home, playing with Star Wars masks, and playing with toys, childish posters on the walls. Its this coming together which brings much of the hilarity , such as when theyre forced to look for jobs against their wishes and messing up the Job interviews deliberately leading them to set up their own company - Prestige worldwide, with a hilarious promotional video called Boats 'n Hoes - which is brilliantly funny. theres also the issue of sibling rivalry between Ferrell and his successful brother Adam Mackay, leading to some funny scenes between the two, and to complicate things further, His wife takes a shine to John Reilly leading to more hilarity between the two of them.

The film has plenty of quotable lines and rewatch value, I write this review belatedly as i bought it when it came out in 2009 as my copy came with 2 discs, including a digital copy which Sony dont seem to accommodate anymore.

As for extras this bluray is excellent including an extended cut of the film, which is brilliant and adds more to the story, plus Commentaries, Gag reels, making of documentary and the actual Boats 'n Hoes video itself.

All in all this is an excellent film and Ive watched it a good few times and it always makes me laugh , one of the best comedies in
recent years IMO and an excellent purchase overall highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The modern successor to Columbo.. A future Classic., 18 July 2012
I've meant to write a long overdue review for this great TV series for a while, over the years watching each season as they came out on dvd, and then when this complete Series , all 8 season boxset came out I bought this.

Firstly if you've never seen the show, Adrian Monk , was a former police detective for the SFPD until his wife , Trudy was killed in a car bomb leading to him having a breakdown, being unfit for duty, and all his phobias which include heights, germs, milk amongst others. There is a long-running story arc throughout the 8 seasons as to why this happened and Adrian tries to uncover the truth , whilst doing his best to overcome his phobias and get re-instated back into the san francisco police dept.

Although unable to fulfill his duties in the police department, with the help of his Nurses , firstly Sharona till mid season 3, then Natalie, His Friends at the SFPD , Capt. Stottlemeyer ( Ted Levine) and Lt. Disher ( jason stamford) call on him to help solve tricky cases that only Monks unique Mind can solve . the cases are really cleverly thought out, its not obvious to the viewer who the villain is and usually the case is solved by monk because of his quirky personality, one example was having a button sewn on crooked by the lady at his Chinese laundry, causing him to go back and complain, leading him to solve one of the cases.

Despite the sadness surrounding Adrian and his circumstances, you really root for him, theres a lot of dark humour in the series and its good general family viewing except for some occasional gruesome scenes when the murder takes place, and theres virtually no bad language in all the 8 seasons.

Now about this boxset, it contains all 8 seasons 124 episodes on 34 discs including various extras on each season, plus end of entire series extras on season 8. Each of the 8 seasons comes nicely packaged in a standard thickness Amaray dvd case with 4 or 5 discs in each box, then packaged in a sturdy outer cardboard box, so it all takes minimal space up.

Overall this is an excellent TV series, which will be looked at in future as a classic I'm sure, and this complete boxset is great, I would say this is a must for fans of US detective series like Columbo, Rockford files etc, well worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Far from Larry's best..... pretee.. pretee... preteeee average., 18 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Firstly , Curb is one of my all time favourite comedies, early season episodes were consistently genius. my favourite episode is probably "the car pool lane" from season 4 but from the early 4 or 5 seasons there were so many great episodes this season has about 3 out of the 10.

Sadly since cheryl has left the hilarious cringeworthy comedy situations Larry frequently got into, which made the show, are lacking greatly and a lot of the situations in this season feel very contrived. Because of this, this season just isnt as good. And if that wasnt a disappointment enough Ricky Gervais shows up in one episode playing himself, which makes you want to switch over instantly. How Larry could be desperate enough to let him waste screen time I'll never know, this particular episode was the low point of the season and should've been cut out. Gervais should get back to his (inferior) office or other lame shows where he belongs.

The best couple of episodes were where Larry upsets Michael J Fox , and Larry buys a gift for his girlfriends son - these were the only ones where it came close to the Curb of old, Sadly though I think we've seen the best of Curb long ago and this great tv series may have jumped the Shark.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great game, but a ripoff on PS vita.., 31 Mar. 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game when The first PSP came out in 2005 and despite the babyish appearance of the characters its a really great game thats quite addictive and you can pick it up and play in short bursts so its great for handhelds.

Now onto the ps vita version, I pre ordered this before the Vita came out from a former major game shop on the high st. at a cost of £35 , which i was slightly reluctant at first to pay , as I still have it for the PSP and it promised to be better on the larger PS Vita screen and it is a great game so I eventually gave in and bought it.

Well the bad news is that the game ,visually, is no different to the PSP version, I would actually say the visuals are worse than on a PSP 3000, the characters are blurry when moving on the screen and I'd say this is just an upscaled version of the psp game slapped onto a memory card with a hefty price tag.

i have since traded it in and downloaded the everybodys golf 2 game from ps store for only seven pounds to play on the Vita instead and the graphics are just as good , if not better than this, I wouldnt recommend wasting your money on buying this new instead download either of the psp versions as I have from the PS store, as psp game downloads will play on the Vita.

I hope this review helps.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yet another stupid Sandler and chums movie..., 24 Dec. 2011
I only got to watch this because it was at the bottom of my Rental list (I must have had the foresight to know it would be garbage) and when I opened the sleeve and saw the happy madison logo on the disc I knew this would be a laugh-free film.

Anyway the lead is played by Kevin James (superstar of huge turkeys: Paul blart: mall cop, and Grown ups.) both of which were produced by Adam Sandler's production company, the aforementioned Happy madison. and its about 10 or 15 years since Sandler made a funny film.

What little plot there is, revolves around a zookeeper (James) who is shy around women, so the Animals at his zoo start giving him dating tips. The special effects with the talking animals were good to its credit, but there is little plot to speak of and its definitely not a comedy unless youre aged about 4 or 5 years old.

I think the only reason this film and most other recent sandler films exist is so Sandler and all his buddies can get together and party and have a laugh, whilst getting paid millions Grownups a prime example, and raking in millions of $ more from gullible suckers who pay to watch his films, and Kevin James definately owes sandler a lot for keeping him in paid employment, as otherwise he'd struggle to get a job doing TV commercials.

To sum up, I'm glad I only rented rather than bought this, but even now I'm sorry that theres nearly 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. Avoid.
