5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating collection of macabre stories, 15 Oct 2014

I am a fussy reader and don't get on with many writing styles. This collection of macabre stories however, was not only easy to read, they engaged and fascinated me throughout. The author has captured the essence of the macabre perfectly. My favourites are Darkness, The dock, and The patting hooves; all conjured up remarkably vivid images more in keeping with longer works. You won't be disappointed.

I tittered and sniggered my way through this book, and will never look at dogs in quite the same way ever again. A must for all dog owners.

Passing Time: Nine Short Tales of the Strange and Macabre

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting collection of stories, 2 Jun 2013

I really liked this book. Being a fan of The Twilight Zone, the unusual mix of stories kept me entertained and wondering what was coming next.
Definitely worth a read.

The Well Collector
The Well Collector

5.0 out of 5 stars A gripping read, 12 May 2013
This is the first book I have read by this author, and if it is typical of her work, I look forward to reading more.
There are few characters which adds to the intensity, and although a short read, they are more fully developed than some novels I have read.
The story line keeps you reading and I was caught out by the ending.
Short stories don't come much better than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars An atmospheric read, 24 April 2013

The Man Who Built the World.

I really enjoyed this book. The atmosphere was subtlety created, the characters are diverse and nicely flawed, and the plot was unpredictable. I couldn't have asked for more.

An excellent read.

I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth a read, 16 Feb 2013

I enjoyed the short stories, they are creepy and build the tension nicely throughout.
The fourth story is novella in length and therefore is the most involved. It introduces Finn McCoy, a paranormal handler, who is the main character that also appears in the follow-up novel.
I like this authors style and find it a very easy read.

This short story is very well written and played with my emotions all the way through. I could feel Tom's elation, despair, frustration and anger as the story unfolded.
Well worth a read.

I don't have much time to read, so short stories work well for me. This collection have original story lines and a twist at the end. Most enjoyable.
