The triumph and tragedy of syntax, 9 Oct 2003
With an interest in the subject matter I had hoped for an engrossing read on the Roman Republic. Whilst you cannot fault the detail, the tiring onslaught of verbs and confusing syntax spoils the overall presentation.
One for the highbrow intellectual, rather than a Plebeian. Cicero would be proud.
