Bad Machinery Volume 2: The Case of the Good Boy
Bad Machinery Volume 2: The Case of the Good Boy
by John Allison
Edition: Paperback
Price: £14.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Fall in love again..., 12 May 2014
I've never had so much fun and enjoyment reading as I have had with John Allison's work. Worth reading again and again, and each time it still feels as fresh as the first time we met these wonderful characters. Keep on doing it please Mr A.

Do not be fooled by a poor cover: great characters, great plot and a joy to read. Highly recommended for anyone

So much better than the film, far more subtle, clever and thought through. First King I read, and will now read more

Action, a propelling story with layers of hidden history. Strength of characters perhaps the only weakness but still a high class read

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter rubbish, 12 Oct. 2006
This review is from: Adept (Adept Series) (Paperback)
I can only echo the other one star reviews: this is quite simply one of the most deplorable books I have ever read. The plot is simple, yet poorly executed through interminable pages that add nothing to the merit of the story or any of its characters. All characters are simply sketched through their clothing and appearance, to fastiduous lengths, and any plot advancement happens though dull predictable action. One has to ask whether an editor had any part in this production?

If anyone out there worries whether they can write - read this book - you couldn't do worse.

1.0 out of 5 stars Major let down, 18 Jan. 2002
This review is from: Artifact (Paperback)
After reading lavish reviews of this book, I was looking forward to it...was I let down! Good idea for a plot, but appaling characterisation, very poor dialogue, and an awful pace to the whole story.
Possibly the worse Sc-Fi novel I've ever read.
