Borderlands: Short Fictions
Borderlands: Short Fictions
by James Carlos Blake
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars again, what is there to state about Blake's work, except praise?, 7 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
superb, intense, grabs you and doesn't let you go.

As with many others of his works, the location is the same, the rough, lawless, "outback" between Mexico and the USA, and those that make there living therein.

Country of the Bad Wolfes
Country of the Bad Wolfes
by James Carlos Blake
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Another absolute masterpice, 7 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
perfectly written and told. And again about life in Mexico and in Mexico and USA's border, a usual stage for Blakes novels.

Whoever is interested in this setting will love this novel.

( it actually goes very well with Myers "The Son" ), so those who read this latter novel, should not miss out on Blake's last.

The Friends of Pancho Villa
The Friends of Pancho Villa
by James Carlos Blake
Edition: Mass Market Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars a perfect and authentic rendering of Mexico's latest revolution, 7 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
crafted by the skillfull, master story teller James Carlos Blake.

Several of his novels depict Mexico's turbulence in the 19th century and the beginnings of the 20th century. Al are flawless, in my opinion.

American Salvage
American Salvage
by Bonnie Jo Campbell
Edition: Paperback
Price: £9.99

2.0 out of 5 stars much more was expected from this collection of shorts by Bonnie Campbell, 7 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: American Salvage (Paperback)
with only one or two standing out and being worth the paper the novel is printed in ( why it isn't available in Kindle format for europeans baffles me ).

All in all, a much expected and anticipated collection, and, in the end, nothing to write home about, really.

Dark Fantasy : L'univers d'Adrian Smith
Dark Fantasy : L'univers d'Adrian Smith
by Laurent Souillé
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £9.18

4.0 out of 5 stars superb Illustrations, 7 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
depicting a much more advance stage of Adran Smith's art as opposed to " The Art of Adrian SMith" book, which covers his initial stages.

The coments, by the french Authors, tottally unnecessary and completely beyond the point. Hence the 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars exquisite, 22 Sept. 2010
This review is from: Savages (Paperback)
Absolutely perfect.

As with all his books untill now.

A pity he does not have the writing pace of Harlan Coben.

1.0 out of 5 stars A pity it has come to this..., 2 Mar. 2010
This review is from: I, Alex Cross (Hardcover)
I have all the Alex Cross novels and eagerly read them and wait for new instalments.

This last "I, Cross", however is a total fluke. It seems it was written in 2 days, the plot has no plot, and Mama's illness is a pain in the bottom and has aboslutely no connection with the novel.

I even doubt it was written by Pattersson ( and not by one of his many minions ).

All in all, a sad and poor "chapter" in a, untill now, rewarding series...

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best reads on the Amazon, ever!, 24 Feb. 2010
This books is simply a MUST for anyone interested in the Amazon and the unspeakable destruction of the same perpetrated by so called civilized people!

Beyond the immense interest of ths book, the way it is written very aptly, and lively, conveys the history of that most amazing place.

5.0 out of 5 stars The one and only Chondro Bible, 3 Sept. 2009
The title says it all. If you are interested in these beuatifull animals, and their husbandry, this is, pure and simply put, a MUST HAVE.
