2.0 out of 5 stars Probably a 2.5* from me., 5 May 2014
Nicely written.
I just couldn't enjoy this book because i thought the character Alex was a complete ignorant douche and Charley was a weak push over,( yet she is supposed to be quite the spitfire). Why? I don't really know, maybe the way he treated Charley? She let him treat her like crap, and yeah she might mope around after he walks out on her constantly, but she completely forgives him for verbally abusing her and oh…… forgetting too mention he had a wife and kid, Yet raged at her for not telling him everything about her life.. x_*
I just felt he was a hypocrite, He over-reacted over the smallest things. For example; he tells her he sleeps around and he would of normally gone for 'skinnier' higher class women, he asks her 'am i your type' she tells him not usually, and he immediately gets angry? I mean WTF???!!
There are a lot more traits these characters had that constantly irritated me, so for me i just did not enjoy reading this book.
However this is my opinion on them, I normally like a alpha male in a story, so other people will probably like this. It has potential and to be honest very well written.
Don't let my opinion put anyone off. It's just if i don't like the main character i can't get into the book.

This book is written beautifully. The whole adultery subject can maybe be a off-putting issue, however karina has written this in a way you understand and sympathise with the characters. Just conclusively it is a very good book, and agreeing with all the reviews I fell into the story so quickly I was sad too finish.

However i feel it wasn't quite perfect. Maybe because i felt some certain situations where never resolved or concluded?

A) We never really feel Vera have a bond with Chloe-Ann, i would of thought maybe in the epilogue something would of been mentioned?
B) I felt like even though Mateo sacrificed alot for Chloe he really disrespected her by letting his ex/wife attack and verbally abuse her. He didn't protect or defend her. It really irked me.
C) So after all the drama with his wife we are supposed to suddenly believe after spending some 'platonic' days with her, she finally accepted and was fine with him leaving her for Vera? Hmm is that really realistic? Idk.

I feel if it had maybe a better epilogue it would of been perfect. Nevertheless i enjoyed this story and definitely will read more books by karina.

Loveeed the first book in the fashionably dead series. Even though this book introduced new characters and didn't involve the other characters from the first book (like pam, the kev, ect) I totally adored the setting of being hell and enjoyed the newer characters just as much ( Lucifier being one for sure)also can't get enough of the demon babies they are just too cuteee xD. Dreamily got lost in the story again and hope the next book will bring both worlds together if that makes sense, and definitely excited and hopeful it won't be too long for it to be brought out.

P.s; Can Ethan get any more swoon worthy?? Omg fiction crushing big-time.

Well you see, i read your most recent book a bit ago (and adored it), and decided when looking through your books yesterday to start from the beginning of your books. Loved this book, to be honest i love your writing style, very humorous and sexy with a slash of drama. It's not quite believable but then again i don't think it's supposed to be that realistic , it's one of them books you just laugh through and giggle and the silliness but also get sucked into the story and characters and find yourself not wanting too finish reading it :) the only thing for me is i felt it concluded with a short finish. But i will be reading the next one of the series starring the roommate/bestie. Lovely read.

*Sigh*…this had the potential to be a great book but sadly for me I just couldn't get into it. If i am going to give points i suppose i liked the supernatural element to the book, and i liked the actual story line to a certain point. (I always love a book with a mythology element too it, especially the Greek gods and goddesses from Olympus!!) However here are the main things that ruined it for me;
A) Skylar was about the most weakest, boring push over a character could of gotten. (It was sickening and frustrating too read.)
B) She just let Mason say and act however he wanted towards her, didn't stick up for herself and constantly whined and obsessed over mason too the point it was angering.
C) she let mason and most of the other characters walk all over her, and the times she showed the tiniest bit of anger seconds later all is forgiven… Basically she was just so really naive.
Lastly, I felt things proceeded too quickly in the story, I mean where was the detail? I felt i was reading a Cheesy teenager fantasy novel that i must admit struggled to finish.
However just because this wasn't my cup of tea, doesn't mean someone else won't love this as a fun read. Won't be buying the next book.

Very interesting! I loved the Asian history that was included throughout the book, and how the more you read the more questions need answering and the suspense you get while trying too figure things out. I mean it's definitely a young teenager book in my opinion so it could of been a bit more darker if it was aiming at a older audience but there is nothing wrong with a bit of innocence thrown in you know? I am definitely on team Tie for hope, he has the brooding dark vibe with a touch of vulnerability a lady cannot resist, i will be looking forward too knowing his story better and its obvious angie and Victor are better suited. I liked angie because she had the shallowness of a typical teenager that balances Hope's maturity, but also is very loyal and protective over her. Anyways you can tell the story has only just begun after reading this book, and I want Hope's past life experience too be as like-able as her modern one. Very much enjoyed this :)

Tucker and Charlotte; complete opposites that balance each other out and cause an attraction that tucker was not expecting. I really like this book, (mainly because i have a weakness for bad boy alpha types) and think it has a bit of everything really. You have the slight action and suspense, and lots of sexy attraction and romance. The only thing i could say which could of made the book a more perfect read would of if it had a bit more explanation and detail too certain scenes you know? Like maybe i felt it had potential for more of the story too be told as i would of loved to know more about Tucker's family, and maybe a bit more action and drama. Loved the characters (Tucker being my favourite male character out of the series) definitely enjoyed this read thank you.

You know what? i am going ahead and giving this five starts not because of the reviews before me tbh, but because this book deserves them! I could prattle on and on but to cut it short and sweet, i totally fell in love with the story. It has a genuine feel too it you know?, like with the fighting and the imperfections on the relationship (such as jealousy insecurity and conflict emotions). It just kind of makes it easy for the reader to relate too, and it gives the characters a certain charm to them. You fall in love with the Slater brothers, and the little irish hellcat sisters, and not to mention the total sexiness of dominic and his brothers!! hot alpha male alert!! I found myself laughing and sometimes swooning at different times. Too end on a high note, L.A Casey has definitely started the beginning of a fabulous story. Can't wait too read the other brothers stories as long as they are brought out within reasonable times :) P.s i loved the Irish charm that was brought to the book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised, 16 Mar 2014

I very much love this story for a couple of reasons. The main one for me is the fact that yes even though some scenes involve sex, the relationship between the dom and submissive wasn't just based on sex alone. The writer is very clever by showing the reader the actual depth of feelings and meaning between what it takes to be in D/S relationship. Sometimes a story can be just a bit too shallow for me when the whole relationship is just based really on the physical side. Don't get me wrong this book has lots of sexy scenes, but they start mostly after at least half way through, and i suppose i developed more respect and understanding for the characters embarking on a new d/s relationship. However i felt something was slightly missing in the story, maybe because it was a much more lighter read i am used to when reading books in the bdsm department, but another book will be released maybe this year involving the same characters, so who knows if it is a carry on or based around another character but i definitely recommend this book and will be buying the next. :)

This book is such an emotional rollercoaster. You have the sexiness, 'taboo feelings', action, complications and heartbreak. 'Twitch' aka antonio is a very complex character. He is so dark yet also endearing, you want to hate him but can't not love him. I think as you read on through Lexi and his story you start to understand things better. Not going to lie, i felt cheated at the end as i cried like a baby (so embarrassing) and then suddenly felt angry and silly for not needing too. But the book has a deep and dark story line, and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
