This story takes place in the past and the present, running alongside each other which does become a bit confusing if you switch off for a minute. The descriptions of India and the characters were fabulous. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it for people who want a "proper read"

I found this an unusual book, that actually kept me hooked in, I wanted to find out what happened to the characters at the turn of every page. Have read nothing like this before.

Having enjoyed Victoria Hislop's other books and being a real Greekophile, I chose this, not realising it was a short story. I found it a very easy read and although I worked out what was going to happen long before the end, that didn't matter.
