Incredible concept, great characterisations - good and bad -
and a really well-constructed story that pulls you in and won't let you go.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works - once the Amazon community helps you!, 23 July 2009
I bought this along with a set of Panasonic DECT handsets as our old Philips handsets could not make it through the walls of our Victorian mansion block.

The short story - because it comes with its own instructions, it is not immediately apparent what you need to do with the handset system that you are setting it up with and it all seems a bit too complicated.

However, as another reviewer here has written, once you switch on the repeater function in the Panasonic menu, it all just sets itself up via the automatic registration.

Simple - in the end. Once installed, it just works, which is all I want it to do.

Good product, but even better is the help that you get from fellow Amazon reviewers!

1.0 out of 5 stars European design has failed..., 23 May 2009
I have used Philips DECT phones for over 10 years now and defaulted to these over the Japanese equivalents - but my loyalty was a mistake.

Whilst the design looks great in the pics, they are plasticky and cheap-feeling when you get hold of them.

Far worse is the fact that they just don't work - the batteries either ran flat within a couple of hours or they would not charge at all; and the signals would not reach either end of our house (where the old Philips ones did).

Thanks to Amazon's great service, these have now been returned and Panasonic versions have been bought - and whilst the design is not as pleasing and the ringtones are all Japano-tacky, they do work.
