Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Be warned by the title....

Total crap...... Its not a history of the Guillotine and the victims etc

Its more concerned about the last man to be executed and the boring life he had.. With some mention of facts about the Guillotine..

1.0 out of 5 stars Stick to the old Rome Total War, 7 Sep 2013
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
Like most die hard fans of TW games this is a real anti-climax..

I was expecting something much better with all the advertising on the net

A real let down!!!!!!!

There are to many - points to list and not many + points ... read the 1 and 2 star reviews before buying..

I will still be playing my old Rome game with the Surrectum 2 patched in for sometime yet!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Tiffany v Debbie Gibson, 15 Sep 2012
Being a big fan of B movies i was not disappointed!!

The story line is about giant Pythons being introduced into the Everglades and destroying the local alligators.

The plot thickens as the alligators in turn have been artificially exposed to some chemical which enhances their size to counter the mega pythons.

Worth a watch to see two sexy 80's pop stars!!!

There is a great fight scene towards the end of the film with Debbie and Tiffany.

Also a guest appearance by Micky Dolenz what more could you ask for??

90 minutes of B movie magic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be warned this is a B movie and not to be taken seriously watch and see for yourself.

Hire or download before you buy!!!

Incredible to watch when they are firing there weapons etc..

The weapons they use never have to be reloaded!!

Ok film if you like predictable plots and over the top acting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thank god for the fast forward button, 3 Jan 2012
This review is from: The Hunters [DVD] (DVD)
I recently watched this film with my son ( who i had to wake up on two occasions)

It was dire to say the least. My son advised after an hour to play at x8 on the fast forward as the plot was so predictable and he wanted to go out.

Watch this film and you will understand!!!

The Indian Mutiny: 1857
The Indian Mutiny: 1857

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, 23 Dec 2010
This is the third book I have read of Saul David and in my opinion his best book to date.
Having some scant knowledge of the Indian Mutiny this book has more than educated me about some of the causes of the mutiny and its eventual crushing by the British and the loyal native troops.I found the book to be very easy to read and no point did I get bored with the book.
There was much tragedy with loss of much innocent life's lost on both sides of the conflict and one did feel for all the victims. The book also exposes some of the arrogance and high-handedness by the British towards the Indian sepoys and all Indians alike and in some respects you can sympathise with the rebels.Saul has excelled with the military aspects of the conflict and covers all the major battles with great detail and has the reader on the edge of their seats!!
Great book and would recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, 23 Dec 2010
Having being into true crime for sometime I found this book to be of great interest. The author has done a excellent job of listing all the men and women who have been hanged from 1900 to 1964.
Information is supplied in good detail on all the people who were executed and the crimes they committed.
This book has been a great addition to my collection of true crime books.Highly recommended to any one with passing interest of true crime.

This review is from: Forty Years of Murder (Paperback)
This was one of the first books I read regarding true crime and forensics

I was not disappointed fantastic read and nearly 20 years later I still like reading true crime books.

Mr Simpsons career dealt with some of the most infamous murders in true crime with the likes of Haig, the Luton sack case to name a few, great book

Roman Emperors (Dark History)
Roman Emperors (Dark History)
by Michael Kerrigan
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A good starter for the learning of the Roman Emperors, 8 May 2010
I enjoy reading books about Rome and the infamous Emperors who have ruled the great empire.
This book does not go into to much depth in relating to each Emperor and only informs the reader the important points regarding the Emperor and events in the empire.
The book is full of very high quality illustrations and makes the book stand out.
This book is ideal for some one who has a passing knowledge or is intending to learn more about this subject.
5 stars for this book is well deserved and I will reiterate this is ideal for someone
who has a passing interest.

The Spartacus War: The Revolt of the Gladiators
The Spartacus War: The Revolt of the Gladiators

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, 8 May 2010
I have read several books about the history of the gladiator and Roman history

To most readers of history Spartacus is an enigma with little historical facts or records left to analyse to have analytical view.

Barry Strauss has done a very good job in trying to put facts first and not going down the road of eulogising Spartacus for something he was not. He tells the reader about the probabilities of how some of the battles were fought and what locations and does not patronise the reader in this regard. The book also informs the readers about Rome and the events regarding the uprising and all the main players who helped in trying to crush the rebellion.
