2.0 out of 5 stars No English voice-over on half of these films., 20 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
PLEASE BE AWARE: Half of these dvds do NOT have an English voice-over. They are narrated in Dutch, possibly German too, although bizarrely some featured Italian as well! The films were made by a number of different production companies and of those that were in English (30), only about 5-10 would have been useful for me to use in school (e.g. the film about Louis Braille did look good). The others seemed to be either from the 1980s and/or not particularly useful resources. I wasn't going to spend more than £60 on 5 (max 10) x 15 min useful films. After I experienced quite a bit of hassle, I eventually got my money back, but it's not a company I would ever use again.

The Real History Behind Foyle's War
The Real History Behind Foyle's War
by Rod Green
Edition: Hardcover

3.0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't 'chuck it', 17 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this as a Christmas present and I think it was enjoyed, but flicking through beforehand I realised it wasn't the history of cases that inspired each episode - which is what I thought it would be. It's more like a series 'companion' (which actually appears to have one or two inaccuracies in it). Also, quality-wise most of the last chapter had pages joined together at the top which was unfortunate. Having said all that, anything to do with Foyle's War will always get my vote!

3.0 out of 5 stars No subtitles - English or French (!), 27 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Monsieur Batignole [FRENCH] (DVD)
Had purchased this hoping for the French subtitles specified, but unfortunately there were none in any language.
We still managed to get the gist of the story and the dvd was good quality, but it has to lose 2 stars because it means without the specified subtitles I can't really use it to help my daughter with her French studies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for starting out on teacher training, 1 Oct. 2012

Very thought provoking and in a style that is easy to read. The subjects are all dealt with separately which helps for dipping in and out.

All in all, an excellent (and very up to date) starter book for any primary teaching programme.
