2.0 out of 5 stars Setting the stand angle is poor, 15 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's OK but I've used better on other tablets. It is fiddly to set the angle of the stand and doesn't feel very secure when it's there.
There's also too much movement of the tablet inside the cover which means every time you want to use the camera - particularly the front facing one - you have to adjust its position to make sure the camera isn't obscured. It's a bit on the thick and clunky side too.

The shiny plastic bit that hold the phone in place broke far too easily - wasn't dropped or bashed, just general usage and storage in my wife's bag. No use after that. Get something else.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ooops - down it goes, 6 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It never stayed on because after about 5 minutes of exercise it was so slippery (rubbery inside) and uncomfortable that it would slide down my leg - very embarrassing when playing tennis. "What just fell out of your shorts?", asks my opponent. And the sweat starts dripping down your leg too (I'm not a naturally sweaty person either). Sorry - not really very nice at all to wear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprised but delighted, 6 Feb 2014

I had reservations about buying another breadmaker as my last one was Ok but sufficiently flawed to resign it to a cupboard most of the time. This one is fantastic! Can't really fault it at all. Bread comes out as you would hope, no sticking at all and it's really easy to use. The recipes are straightforward and varied too.

It's been used at least once a day since I bought it 3 weeks ago and we've stopped buying bread from the shops now. The family love having fresh bread on the table for breakfast.

Highly recommended - I hope it lasts.

Not your usual Christmas offering but a fantastic song. A great voice from a new artist backed up by some amazing vocal harmony. I love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars So good!, 18 Jun 2011
I don't know why I stuck with the old analog scales for so long. These are wonderful. So neat, accurate and easy to use. Forget all that lining up and squinting to try and get an approximate weight, these are easy to read and spot on. So easy to store too.
Get some!

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathless playing, 15 Dec 2010
There's something about Uchida's playing that no other pianist can emulate when it comes to Mozart. It simply takes my breath away. This selection is worth buying for number 24 alone, but then I have to confess to it having a special place for me as I heard Mitsuko Uchida playing (and directing) it live with the ECO in the mid 80's on the South Bank and it rates as one of the most special concerts ever for me.

I agree with another reviewer that I would be very happy with the Perahia recordings; in fact he was my favourite Mozart interpreter - at least before Uchida came along. Perahia's technique is probably better but Uchida has that undefinable quality that makes music really special.

Totally and unreservedly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars His best yet, 18 Oct 2002
This review is from: Clawhammer (Paperback)
Llewellyn's other sailing books are great entertaining yarns - but this one is different - and much better. The others all have a definite formula which they all seem to adhere to fairly closely. This one contains elements of the others but adds far more interest into the plot. It is far wider-ranging and the characterisations are better. A few personal prejudices also become apparent but it is none-the-worse for that. There are the usual well-told sailing episodes which I, as a yacht sailor, always enjoy. His narrative style is always easy which makes his books hard to put down.
You don't have to sail to enjoy this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic story read by a classic voice, 18 Oct 2002
If you never buy your children any other books or tapes, buy them Narnia! In fact, not just children, adults too. Life-changing stuff! If every child had Narnia when growing up then the world would be a better place.
The Michael Hordern versions have now been around for some time but if you like the idea of bedtime stories then this is a superb adaptation with a simple musical setting that adds more feeling to the story rather than detracting/distracting. Rather like having your father/grandfather read to you when you were young.
You're never too old to grow young.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best ever radio production!, 31 July 2002
Unbelievable! The combination of Tolkein's magnificent story-telling, the BBC's reputation for producing quality drama, and some wonderful music from Stephen Oliver must surely make this the best ever radio drama production. It has as great an effect on me now as it did when I first heard it 20 or so years ago.
The Battle of the Pelennor Fields set to music is such an incredible emotional experience.
