1.0 out of 5 stars Repeated Faulty Units. AVOID., 29 Nov 2012
Have purchased this item and already gone through 2 units in just 3 weeks. Unit quickly loses power, and motor dies for no apparent reason. Have seen many, many complaints about this product across all Internet review sites - AVOID, THEY HAVE AN OBVIOUS FLAW IN THEIR CONSTRUCTION.
(Nothing to do with Amazon incidentally, they are always very helpful and courteous with their returns - this is an issue with the manufacturer Philips)

2.0 out of 5 stars Potentially excellent... But released disgracefully unfinished., 10 Oct 2009
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NBA 2K10 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
NBA 2k10 is potentially THE Basketball game, building on the much enjoyed 2k9... But 2k have gone ahead and rushed out a product so clearly unfinished, that its frankly an insult to their legion of loyal fans. To cut a long story short - this is for all intents and purposes a Beta version right now. Graphical gliches, frequent framerate slowdowns, balance issues, and an absolute mess of an online mode. And as for the bugs! Truly like you wouldn't believe: Settings changing themselves seemingly at random, players teleporting through each other, stats recording incorrectly, and Teams actually even vanishing into thin air right before tip-off...

2k have treated their fans disgracefully here. This game needed at least another few weeks of playtesting - 1 or 2 bugs is expected these days, but certain aspects here are broken to the point of unplayability at times. Rushed out for whatever reason (to match EAs Live 10?), in my opinion there is no point in even considering buying this game until the reported patch is released in a couple of weeks(?) time. In its current state, you may as well stick with 2k9.

But so frustratingly, underneath it all is quite clearly a potentially very good game. Looking past the obvious bugs and technical issues that can hopefully be straightened out by a patch or 3, there is much to suggest this could be a massively enjoyable experience. Surprisingly not that much has actually changed since 2k9 (itself a flawed masterpiece) - indeed, some elements including certain controls and parts of the presentation seem to have even gone backwards slightly. The overall package with the new My Player mode and the NBA Today feature amongst other impressive new bells & whistles however, probably offer just enough to be an incremental increase in substance over its entertaining predecessor.

Wait and see what the response is from 2k - a swift patch, a huge apology, and a promise to actually pay attention to fans in the future could see them back on top; if not it looks like a forthcoming trade over to the EA camp and NBA Live for myself and a lot of other fans... The shot clock is running down!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why has nobody reviewed this great game?!, 16 Oct 2004
Excellent game - haven't enjoyed a game this much for years!!
The 'Free Training' section alone has killed hours of my time, whilst the main game itself is absorbing and well-paced.
Great graphics, easy to use controls, plenty of fresh and exciting ideas and lots of fun - highly reccomended.
