3.0 out of 5 stars Good bag but let down by the strap attachment, 10 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this bag in October 2013. Have used it since to carry stuff to work. Overall, a good product and sturdily constructed. I like the absence of plastic clips and zips which might break down.

A 15.4 inch laptop, power cord and a slip file folder is a tight fit, but extremely adequate for the daily commute.

However, I think the one big flaw in the design is the strap. On one side it is sewn into the bag, and is fine. On the other side it loops through a flat plastic hoop. This is to allow for length adjustment. After about 2 months of use, the strap is bunched up at this end with the plastic hoop sticking out lengthwise. Still secure and usable but no longer sliding smoothly through the attachment, making the adjustment of length difficult. A small niggle in a well designed product. But when I pay close to £40 for a bag, I expect everything to work for more than 2 months!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brillant, 16 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this to replace the optical drive in an Acer Aspire 5750G.
Works brilliantly and installs easily.
A few things that might help.
Remove the original DVD drive by unscrewing the single screw located next to the optical tray.
The drive then slides out.
Eject the disc tray using a paperclip through the hole and unclip the drive plastic end plate. Held in place by 2 clips at the ends. These be pushed in with a flat blade screwdriver.
Unscrew the metal clip with the retaining screw hole from the other end of the drive. This is held in place with 2 small screws.
Remove the endplate from the drive caddy and replace it with the original end plate. Just clicks in. If it doesn't check the orientation.
Screw the original metal retaining clip into the other end of the caddy using the original screws. There are screw holes in the caddy at the correct position, although it took a bit of force to get the screws going. Make sure the that retaining clip is in the correct orientation.
Install your SSD.
Slide the caddy into the optical bay.
The retaining clip should line up nicely with the screw opening in the bottom of the laptop.
Enjoy!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud!, 3 Oct 2012
One of the funniest books I have read.
The story is easy to read and full of surprises! It almost feels like that the book advocates "always look on the bright side of life" as a philosophy and it certainly works for Alan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best router I have ever used, 14 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have been through at least 5 wireless routers from the early days of ADSL broadband. This is hands down the best one I have ever used.
I have 3 laptops, 2 gaming consoles, 1 printer and 3 mobiles connected to it at the same time, sometimes streaming Netflix simultaneously wirelessly through both the consoles - never a dropped connection and sustained speeds.
If you are even slightly "techie" the router offers a wealth of configuration options and security modes, including a solid firewall with wireless and ethernet MAC address filtering.
The wireless signal strength is also brilliant. My router sits on the second floor and my laptop can connect right down to the bottom of the garden.
Well worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well written and an excellent resource, 5 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The book is brilliant. One of the best ones that I have read on mindfulness.
However, I do have one gripe. I read this on Kindle for PC - no access to the guided meditations on CD that come with the print book. These are available with the Enhanced Kindle Edition, but only for the "i family", not for Kindle on PC.
Amazon should make these available as MP3 for all purchasers on Kindle or indicate quite clearly that if you don't buy the print book, you will miss out on all the audio content.
My 3 stars are not for the book, but for the lack of the audio content on the Kindle edition.

Pakuma Choroka K1 Messenger Bag Black with Jasper Red Piping for 15 - 17inch Mac & PC Laptops
Pakuma Choroka K1 Messenger Bag Black with Jasper Red Piping for 15 - 17inch Mac & PC Laptops

1.0 out of 5 stars Does not last, 3 Feb 2012
I got this bag as a Christmas present and have been using it for commuting to work for the past month.
Although my 15.4 inch laptop fits perfectly and safely along with other bits and bobs, I never felt confident about the fastening of the bag. The velcro closure is a bit flimsy and the plastic catches not quite enough. This morning, one of the plastic catcher broke off. Couldn't believe it, just over a month of use and this - not happy. The velcro on it's own is not strong enough to do without the plastic catch.
No carrying handle also makes the bag unwieldy when lifting out of a car seat/boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best gadget, 22 Aug 2008
I was looking for a GPS reciever to use with my HTC S620 Smartphone. I use it with Live 7 Software for Windows Mobile (UK & Ireland) (UK & Ireland) on the phone. It took minutes to set up and "just works".

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for single developers and small businesses, 18 Dec 2004
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As a single developer, I wish I had read this book 2 years ago.
In a simple, no-nonsense style, it guides you through the essentials of planning, managing, deploying and selling your software. I develop asp.net websites and have found this book extremely useful to follow "good practice" in my development process.
I does not advocate expensive software and spells out in detail the pros and cons of the various software solutions it mentions (eg. for source control, bug tracking, build management etc).
The author writes from personal experience and is obviously aware of the issues faced by lone developers or small development teams on a tight budget. The book gave me a good grounding in best practices, something which other programming books assume that every developer already knows.

5.0 out of 5 stars It does work and well, 18 Dec 2004
Having worked my way through a number of "productivity" books, I can heartily say that this is the best and most practical one that I have read and the only one that I have found easy to implement. The methods described are almost exactly the same as In David Allen's "Getting Things Done", however, the style is refreshing and most importantly for me, MS Outlook is integrated into your time management strategy.
If you use Outlook for your e mail, appointments and tasks, this is the book for you. It takes you step by step in setting up a time management system in Outlook that really works (Without the need to purchase an expensive addin - unlike "Getting Things Done").

5.0 out of 5 stars An oasis in a turbulent world, 19 July 2002

A wonderful and practical book. Merely reading it brings a sense of calm and takes one away from the troubles of daily life. Puts everything into perspective. Should be a must for every one, the world would be a better place if it was.
