4.0 out of 5 stars really not that bad, 6 Aug. 2006
This review is from: Von (Audio CD)
i was very nervous about buying this album after reading the other reviews on this page, but after finding the courage to go and buy this album, i was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. it is not good value for money, because only 5 of the tracks could be described as songs, the rest of it is ambient mood setting noise. but the 5 songs (hun jord, myrkur, hafsol, von and sindir guds) are all excellent songs. also this album is hugely interesting to any Sigur Ros fan, in finding out how their beautiful music was born.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, 25 Mar. 2006
i bought this before takk, and i think its only just better (theres only a handful of cds that can possibly be better than takk). the jaw dropping feeling of butterflies in my stomach after the bowed guitar 'solos' on svefn g englar and vidrar vel til loftarasa reminded me of falling in love, which is i suppose what happened after listening to this! those tracks are probably the highlights, but each song has its own brilliant moment: the fireworks on staralfur, the laa laa la la chorus on olsen olsen or the hypnotic drums on ny batteri are just fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars whats in between the brackets, 6 Jan. 2006
This review is from: ( ) (Audio CD)
i love this album, its one of my favourite ever, and i think its sigur ros' best moment so far. the fact that it is so bleak and empty, with no lyrics or titles is the appeal. there are so many ways to interpret this album, and i think it is all about loneliness and emptiness, like the empty gap inbetween the brackets. pure beauty from the only band around today who deserve to be called music legends.
