1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap plastic, lasted less than a year before needing replacement, 9 Jan 2014

The plastic frame the holds the phone is brittle and snaps far too easily. Don't trust your expensive phone to this cheap tat.

This is a fabulous book, one of my all time favourites, knocking Good Omens off the top spot. I recommend it to anybody that will listen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Quality construction but over-engineered for the majority of MMO players, 9 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very solid, well built mouse but doesn't really add any more value to the typical MMO play experience that couldn't be achieved with a multi-button mouse that costs a tenth of this one.

The quick start guide points you towards the website and anyone considering buying one of these will be perfectly familiar with finding Download sections and installing the software. The PDF instructions are comprehensive and easy to understand. Setting up the programmable keys is pretty straightforward IF you take the time to read the manual first.
If you behave like a typical bloke and dive right in you will probably get frustrated as it is not intuitive, so RTFM!

It looks good, blue LEDs and the corsair logo light up (you can turn the logo light off if you want). Buttons are solid and activate with pressure from any direction, you don't need to worry about being dead center when pressing.

I found that the tiny corner button (#7) nearest the LMB and the two DPI switches on the LMB quite awkward to reach and usually ended up clicking the RMB at the same time, but that is the only ergonomic issue and of course will vary depending on your hand size. (I have shovel hands). The wheel is nice and chunky, with good click feedback when rolling in precise increments. The resistance has been well tuned so that scrolling web pages is a doddle too.

Solid body with an aluminium base plate makes it considerably heavier (relatively) than your average plastic mouse but it feels like a quality, premium product. It has a nice non slip rubberised surface on the right side and top, smooth plastic around the G shaped array of thumb buttons and a lovely surface glide, actually noticeably smoother than my old cheapo plastic mouse.

It took a couple of hours to train my thumb where the buttons were but it started feeling natural fairly quickly. DPI is adjustable in the software as well as on the fly, and you can activate an on screen overlay that appears in the bottom right corner of the screen to remind you what setting you just selected. You can reprogram the DPI buttons too if you have no need to alter precision while playing.

I saw it advertised as a custom MMO/FPS mouse, I don't pewpew, just MMO and frankly I have buyer's remorse. I could achieve the same results in game with a much, much cheaper product. It's the equivalent of spending hundreds on a designer wallet when you could achieve the same result with a plastic carrier bag from your local supermarket. But it was paid for with Christmas money and is a luxury item.

The build quality means I don't expect I will need to buy another mouse anytime in the next decade, or ever.

2.0 out of 5 stars Check the size, 5 Jan 2013

I am a wally and didn't check the size on this item properly. Please note the word MINI in capital letters.

These dice are teeny tiny, about the size of your pinky finger nail, not the usual thumbnail size. Just so you know.

4.0 out of 5 stars comfortable and safe., 21 Jun 2012

While there are cheaper arm bands for your phone out there, I didn't feel comfortable trusting a £500 handset to a £3 pouch with a visible slot for the phone to possibly slip out of while jogging. This pouch completely encases the phone with a fold up velcro flap, and the phone fits in very snuggly, no wiggle or slipping going on there. The plastic window allows use of the touch screen with only a minor drop in responsiveness, sometimes you have to poke it a couple of times to get a response, but it stil works, so you can live with it. The volume and power buttons are covered by the neoprene but still work fine through the material. Ear phone socket lines up pretty neatly with the hole in the pouch, no problems there at all.

Given that it is for jogging/gym use I wonder how well the water resistant Neoprene will stand up to sweat over time, and if it is washable or not. Nothing in the packaging on how to clean or maintain the pouch on that score.

No problems while running with it either, no chafing or irritation or anything like that. Didn't interfere with GPS either so your run tracking app of choice should function just fine and dandy.

The only negative is that the little elasticated loop next to the buckle which the pictures show is for storing the ear phone cable is completely unsuable for that. You can maybe store a pencil in there but I have no idea how they managed to thread the cable through there. I couldn't even work the jack through it and gave up after 5 minutes of fumbling around. I just ended up putting the cable down my collar and sleeve to keep it tidy and not bouncing around when jogging. If they sorted that bit out so that it was usable/useful, (or added a key pocket or similar) that would have been the 5th star.
