5.0 out of 5 stars £2.99 for a fitted leather case, you can't go wrong, 21 Mar 2013

£2.99 for a fitted leather case, you can't go wrong. This case fits the Samsung Galaxy Ace perfectly and provides excellent protection without intefering with t he operation of the phone. On top of that it looks good. The phone attaches to the case by "clicking" it into a plastic holder; all controls and fubctions are accessible.
The added stylus is a little short for me but, as it's a bonus, I'm not complaining

3.0 out of 5 stars Too big for the HC-X900M if you use the viewfinder, 21 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This battery is about twice the size of the standard battery and protrudes behind the body. This wouldn't be a problem for the HC-X800 or HC-X900, which don't have optical viewfinders. However, on the XC-900M, the battery protrudes well past the viewfinder, making it impossible to use it. As I prefer to use the viewfinder, it did not meet my requirements but, for those who prefer to use the LCD monitor, it would be ok

5.0 out of 5 stars Everthing I've come to expect of Panasonic, 18 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I’ve had a Panasonic MV-GS500 3CCD camcorder for a few years now and, although is doesn’t record in HD, I’ve always been perfectly satisfied with the quality. However, recording on tape has its limitations and I was ready for an upgrade. My criteria were; 3 CMOS, full HD, built in memory, SDHC expansion capability. I looked about and the Panasonic X900M seemed to tick all the boxes.
Although it has been around for a while now, and there are more up-to-date models available with even higher specs, this camcorder does everything I want to do and, as it is now being discounted, represents exceptional value for money.
I produce two types of video quality, DVD and YouTube and, although the camcorder can record I four qualities, including full HD. I record everything in AVCDH, which leaves the options open, but this machine has a brilliant built in function that copies and converts AVCHD to MP4 recordings from the built in memory to the SDHC card.
Recording in full HD uses a lot of memory and runs down the battery very quickly, so I have invested in a spare battery and a car charger, just to be safe.
The user has full control of all recording functions, but for everyday use, the auto mode has produced great results every time. I’m looking forward to exploring the possibilities in the coming weeks and months.
In summary, this camcorder is everything I’ve come to expect of Panasonic.

5.0 out of 5 stars With this you can take your camcorder anywhere, 16 Mar 2013

This is an excellent battery charger. Not only does it include adapters for UK, continental and US mains sockets, it also has an adapter to allow charging from an in car 12v socket.
The battery in my Panasonic HC-X900M camcorder needs to be charged in place, which can be difficult when out and about. The advantage of this charger is that the battery can be charged outside of the camcorder, making it much easier, and also allowing a spare battery to be charged while another is in use.
The small size means it's easy to leave it in your camera bag, making it easy to take your camcorder anywhere. It's actually better than I anticipated and truly excellent value for money.

Philips QT4005 Stubble Trimmer
Philips QT4005 Stubble Trimmer

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple to use, but very effective., 5 Mar 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have had a beard for longer than I like to remember and for most of that time I used a Philips trimmer to keep it in shape. However, it eventually began to lose its charge and the cutter lost its edge, so I looked for a replacement.
Foolishly, I was seduced by another manufacturer's model with electronic settings, an LED display and a USB charger, and have regretted it ever since.
So, I was delighted to find this model from Philips and, from the first use, it is almost like old times. Almost, because this model has a beautifully simple dial for setting the cut depth and, unlike the older model, it is almost impossible to accidentally set it too short and cut a swathe through your beard.
Charging is done through a proper charger with a standard 3 pin plug and the charge should be enough for about ten trims.
After use, the cutting head can be flipped off and any residual hair cleaned off the mechanism with the supplied cleaning brush.
A tip for new users; for the first cut, set the depth longer than you think you need, try it, and then reduce it one click at a time until you have the length you want. From them on, you can leave it set, and only need to change it if you decide to change the lebgth of your beard.
I'm very pleased with this trimmer; it's simple to use, but very effective.

This very neat app instantly converts almost anything that can be measured. Length, distance, area, weight, volume, the list goes on and on. The user can choose a category and then choose which units to convert; convertion takes place instantly as you type. Not something you will use very often, but absolutely invaluable when you need it.

I watched "Dancing on the Edge" on the television and loved the programme. One of the outstanding features was the music of the Louis Lester Band and this album brings back the memories. Even if you haven't seen the programme, this is just great music to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you want high quailty recordings, you ned a high quaility recorder., 1 Mar 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
It's very possible to buy a decent digital voice recorder very cheaply, in fact most smartphones have a built-in voice recorder app. It will be perfectly adequate for making personal notes and recording one-on-one conversations but, if you want to record meetings, events and music, you need a purpose built device; the Olympus LS-14 is just that.
The first thing you notice when taking it out of the box is how good it looks and feels in your hand. You can't fail also to notice the directional stereo microphones on the top, but you might not see the third microphone nestling between them. Together, they form the "Tresmic" system that enables high quality recording over a wide band width. As an aside, when I removed the recorder from the supplied soft case in a meeting, everybody wanted to look at and handle it.
On the front of the device is an LCD display and the controls. A choice of three recording modes, Smart, Manual or Quick can be selected from a simple rotary switch, and good clear buttons control Record, Stop and Play. On screen menus are brought up with the Menu button and navigation through set-up and the file system is controlled by three small function buttons below the display. A four-way button controls playback speed and volume and recording levels. Finally, the Erase button does exactly what it says, but with an extra step to avoid accidental erasing of recordings.
Although there is an inbuilt speaker, a socket is provided for the connection of external speakers or headphones. Similarly, sockets are provided for the connection of an external microphone or to other devices, such as a PA system.
Recordings can be stored on the 4GB of internal memory, which can be boosted by an optional additional 32GB by use of a removable SDHC card. Recordings can be made in high-quality, uncompressed, PCM format for music CDs etc, or in compressed MP3 format for everyday use. A supplied USB cable can be used to transfer recordings between the recorder and a PC.
I am a member of a committee, the meetings of which have always been recorded for transcription to minutes, and then archived on a computer, using a consumer level recorder. I used the LS-14 for the first time at a committee meeting and was astonished at the difference in quality. The meeting was quite animated and there were times when members were talking over others. This has previously made it difficult at time to separate individual contributions but, even recording in MP3 format, the quality was superb with no problem in hearing everything that was said. For the meeting, I used "Quick" mode, leaving the recorder to set its own levels, which worked perfectly. It is also possible to use "Smart" mode, where the recorder analyses the noise levels before recording starts and sets levels appropriately, or "Manual" mode where the user takes full control of setting levels.
Included in the package is a handy stand that screws into a "tripod" socket on the back of the device. By removing the screw and inserting it into another hole, the stand converts into a clip which allows the recorder to be attached vertically.
Although I will use the LS-14 primarily as a voice recorder and use a PC to process the recordings, moving, copying and editing files is possible on the device. It does, however, have much to offer to others, such as musicians, who have a need for the very high quality recordings that it is capable of proiducing.
If I have a criticism it is with the supplied documentation, which I found too small, difficult to read and much thicker than necessary as it was in multiple languages. However, an English language version of the manual is provided in pdf format on the device, which can be downloaded and viewed on a PC.
I have only had the LS-14 for a few days, but I have already been very impressed by it; I look forward to exploring it further in the coming weeks and months.

4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate keystrokes and no finger prints., 28 Feb 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I love touch screens, but hate touch screen keyboards. Not only does your finger cover the keys, making it easy to hit the wromg one, it leaves finger marks all over the screen. A stylus is the perfect solution, and this one is very good; it feels good to hold and is long enough to give a good view of the keyboard. The clip is tight and strong, making it easy to keep in a pocket. Most importantly, it allows accurate keystrokes.
As with all styli, the weak point is the rubber end but, at this price, even if you had to get a new one every six months, it would still be good value.

3.0 out of 5 stars It would benefit from a few game variations., 25 Feb 2013

This review is from: Dominoes (App)
This is a fairly straightforward game of dominos, and quite handy to pass a few minutes. However, dominoes can need a large playing area and consequently, the pieces are very small and difficult to place, especially on a smartphone. It would benefit from a few game variations.
