3.0 out of 5 stars Decent game, you don't need Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus to play it, 10 Mar. 2015
This review is from: The Crew (PS4) (Video Game)
Reading some of the reviews, you have to be online at all times. For single player mode, you don't need Xbox Live Gold or PS Plus. Not sure why this was never released on the PS3, but playing the Xbox One version (the PS4 version is probably the same), graphically, it's a last gen game that's been ported over to the Xbox One and PS4, which is common when new consoles launch. A decent game if you can pick it up cheap enough.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a complete boxset, 9 Feb. 2015
I was interested in buying this boxset, more so for the price, but after doing some research, it appears that it doesn't include the 2007 special episode. There was also a 10th anniversary documentary from 1994 that's not included. I've read some reviews on here and it appears that the US version has extras, but I'm not sure what those extras are. I can't see how the BBC can get away with calling this the complete edition when quite clearly it isn't. The BBC has also done this with other boxsets.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price, but missing 1 movie, 25 Dec. 2014
This review is from: Herbie Collection [DVD] (DVD)
A great set of movies, but it's missing the 1997 remake of The Love Bug, which was a TV movie that's not available on DVD or Blu-ray at the moment. There was also a TV series, but it only lasted 5 episodes. Other than that, it's decent for the price (I paid £9.99).

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like the TV series, 29 Nov. 2014
Looks great on Blu-ray, but that's about it. Nothing like the TV series. I got bored after 20 minutes or so, but finished it off. Most of the film is people stood or sat talking. The actual storyline is very poor and the acting is quite static. As mentioned, nothing like the TV series, so the cast just doesn't pull its weight. Don't be fooled thinking it's going to be like the TV series, as it's far from that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, but not as good as the last one, 22 Nov. 2014
Playing all the Mario Kart games from 1993 (apart from the 3 Mario Kart GP arcade games), I found it fell short in a number of areas. Can't fault the graphics or sound, but when it came to the tracks, 16 old tracks and 16 new tracks, it should've been 32 new tracks, leaving the old tracks for DLC. Nearly all the tracks are too short and in 150cc mode, it plays a bit on the slow side. In past games, so many times you'd get punished by shells or whatever, but with this game, it looks like Nintendo has scaled that down. Can't say I'm a fan of racing under water and most of the vehicles just don't fit the game, apart from karts and bikes. The character count is decent, but it could be a lot better, as many of the characters are clones of other characters (Peach then Baby Peach, Pink Gold Peach, Daisy, Baby Daisy, Rosalina, Baby Rosalina, Larry then Iggy and Lemmy, Mario then Baby Mario and Metal Mario). Nintendo could probably fill the game with more characters and cut out clones (old characters and clones as DLC). £11.00 for the 2 DLC packs (or £7.00 each), that bumps up the price of playing the full game (potentially £64.00, as to download the game can set you back £50). With Mario Kart 9, I'd like to see all karts and all new tracks with a bit more speed. Other than that, it's a great game, but not as good as the GameCube and Wii versions. Out of the series, the Nintendo 64 version was the best, plus the step up from the Super Nintendo version to the Nintendo 64 version was a massive improvement. Nintendo needs to strip back the series with the next game.

Uniross Classic Xpress 150 Charger with 4 x AA 1300 mAh Rechargeable Batteries
Uniross Classic Xpress 150 Charger with 4 x AA 1300 mAh Rechargeable Batteries

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit of confusion..., 4 Nov. 2014
A great charger for the price. My old Uniross charger charged batteries in 2 hours and would switch itself off. The instructions with this charger states a charging time of 11 hours and 15 minutes, yet on the actual batteries, it states 7 hours. Recently buying some more batteries, the packet states a charging time of 16 hours with a standard charger, but only 1 hour with a fast charger (looks like this charger isn't a fast charger, it's just a standard charger). I thought with this charger being branded as an Xpress charger, it'd charge batteries quick, but that's not the case. I charge the batteries for 12 hours, but you have to time it yourself. ). I e-mailed Uniross about this, but they didn't reply. I didn't call them because they're based in France and I'm in England.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price..., 4 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
PROS:

*Finally, a high definition console from Nintendo, which looks ace on a 1080p LED TV
*Typical Nintendo high quality
*Packaged with a HDMI cable
*Games look ace on the controller screen (GamePad) and the sound from the in-built speakers (has volume control) is pretty good
*The screen controller comes with a separate power cable for charging the in-built battery, plus it can be charged as you're using it (it can't be charged using a USB cable like with the PS3 controller)
*New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8, all look and plays ace
*It plays Wii games, which are upscaled (they can't be played using the screen controller or the Wii U Pro Controller)
*Wii accessories can be used, but not sure about unofficial accessories

CONS:

*Doesn't come with a hard drive or hard drive bay, so an external hard drive (using a USB port) is the only option
*The screen controller is a great idea, but it's a bit on the big side with some fiddly buttons
*The screen controller battery doesn't last very long, but Nintendo recently released a bigger capacity battery
*For 2+ player games, only 1 player can use a screen controller, so other screen controllers can't be connected
*Doesn't come packaged with a Sensor Bar
*Pro Controllers only come in black and they can cost up to £40 each
*A headset (not included) can only be plugged into the screen controller and not the Pro Controller
*Only a few games worth playing to date, new releases are very thin
*Very poor support from other developers and publishers
*Certain genres are always weak on Nintendo consoles, more so racing, sport and shooting games
*Power wise, it can't compete with the Xbox One and PS4, more so when it comes to high end games
**Nintendo Land game is quite poor and limited, plus it isn't worth full price (should've been a free game like Wii Sports for the Wii)
*Extra accessories bump up the price (external hard drive, Remote, Nunchuk, Sensor Bar and Pro Controller)
*Doesn't play DVD or Blu-ray movies

OTHER:

*A great console if you can pick one up cheap
*Doesn't play GameCube games
*It can't be stood up (doesn't come packaged with a stand like with the Wii), but there are stands available, but the official stand only comes in black
*Nintendo are rumoured to be discontinuing the white 8GB model
*Replacement screen controllers are not available to buy
*A protector is best fitted to the screen controller, as the screen can scratch easy, which is the case with everything that has a screen
*Will need a LAN adaptor if connecting to the internet using an Ethernet cable
*Typical high gloss casing marks easy and gets dusty, which is the case with everything that's high gloss
*Packaged HDMI cable is a bit of the cheap side (not typical Nintendo quality)

To date (November 2014), the Wii U hasn't delivered, more so from Nintendo. Yet again, poor support from other developers and publishers. £50 to download games from Nintendo, when they can be bought on disc for the same price or usually for less. Nintendo will probably drag out the Wii U for another 3 years or so until its next consoles is released, rumoured to be an all in one console in the form of a tablet (in different sizes), which can be connected to a TV. Games will come on cards or can be downloaded. A new wireless controller etc. will be released. No Wii U style GamePad, as the new console will be an iPad clone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but..., 23 Jan. 2012
I usually wait for complete boxsets, I'd say this was the best one I've bought. Even though I watched most episodes on tele, I watched them all, more so the ones that I'd missed...

The only downside, is the box is made from quite a poor quality laminated cardboard. First one I got, it was damaged, the replacement was damaged, but I was just happy at having the full set, plus they do come in slim DVD boxes with covers. There's 2 different boxes, the high box being featured, mine was the flat box version. The enclosed booklet is also good, if not a bit brief. But there's quite a few books out there about Peter Falk, so that's an added bonus. Very pleased I've the full set.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much better on a big screen, 20 Jun. 2011

Much better to play that the PSP version. People might moan about the dated graphics, but they still look great, not forgetting that the PS2 is over 10 years old now. The Wipeout games (Pure and Pulse) don't seem to work on the PSP, shame that Pure wasn't released on the PS2 also. I'd say Fusion was slightly better, but I'd definetly recommend getting this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every episode included!, 3 Feb. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Every episode in one boxset, it even includes the pilot episode which runs for about 90 minutes. It's interesting to see Face in the pilot episode who is played by Tim Dunigan, who was later sacked and replaced by Dirk Benedict, as Dunigan looked too young for the part.

There was some confusion about how many episodes had been made, having done some research online, this boxset does include every episode. Some episodes came in 2 parts on TV, but have been made into 1 episode on DVD. Don't worry, every episode is in there!

The DVDs come in slim cases, the storage box is a bit flimsy, but I wasn't too bothered about it. A brilliant boxset for the price, 10 out of 10.
