1.0 out of 5 stars Not fit for purpose. Should be described as a bread dessicator., 30 July 2014
It takes two cycles on maximum to toast anything to the point that it tastes toasted.
To take the five "features" highlighted on the packaging:
1. Removable crumb tray. Will need very frequent attention, barely lipped at all.
2. Hi lift feature.Raises the contents a whole 3/4" (18mm) which makes normal sliced bread accessible, but anything smaller you will still have to resort to the old launch and catch it technique.Note also that the packaging shows the bread put in vertically: I guarantee this is a mock up - the top part of the slices would barely be warmed by the elements used this way.
3. Cancel, frozen and reheat buttons. Great. 3 ways to make the toast even less toast like.
4. Extra deep variable width slots.Nice and wide for doorstep thick toast, but too short for a lot of bread on its side and too shallow to toast bread upright.
5. Variable browning control. Sorry, this one is a joke. You cannot get stale bread brown on the maximum setting, just an uneven light golden.

I'll scrap mine next visit to a tip - it would be unfair to give this toaster shaped object to a charity shop.

Violins and Other Stringed Instruments: How to Make Them (1907)
Violins and Other Stringed Instruments: How to Make Them (1907)
by Paul N. Hasluck
Edition: Paperback
Price: £11.16

4.0 out of 5 stars Quaintly entertaining, but not a serious construction guide, 16 Mar. 2012
I have a 1916 cloth bound edition. The section on home made tools is fairly good, given the modern urge to fling money at everything instead of applying a little human resourcefulness.
The book covers a wide range of instruments, half devoted to the violin, as well as sections ranging from cursory to positively bizarre on japanese one string violin, mandoline (sic), guitar, banjo, zither and dulcimer.
Buy this as an historical entertainment, but choose a more modern text specific to your instrument of choice as a construction guide. The four stars are mostly for enjoyment value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this if you like Broccoli, 18 Dec. 2010
This review is from: The Association (Audio CD)
This is a good album, made essential by the celebration of my favourite food.
Broccoli is the best track on the planet. Perfect for getting an appetite up.

OK, perhaps a little hyperbole there - but this is a fine album :D

3.0 out of 5 stars Which idiot hit maximise?, 31 Dec. 2008

This was a great album on vinyl, unfortunately some twit has tried to improve it. Better than nothing, but the sound is not good - boomy and spacey.
