5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding - Chuck D at his very, very best., 24 Nov 2009
I have been in to Hip-Hop for nearly 20 years, and revisted this album recently - its oustanding. Possibly PE's most complete album ever. Real drums, rather than sampled sounds make an amazing sound.

If you consider the intelligence of Chuck D and the fact that this is real Rap and not West Coast R&B, this album will blow you away and teach you about the PE cause at the same time.

5/5. Brilliant.

The Juice 2010: The Coolest Guide to the Hottest Wines
The Juice 2010: The Coolest Guide to the Hottest Wines

1.0 out of 5 stars tired and a tad boring and suggested wines not tasted!!, 2 Nov 2009
As I have a birthday in October, and like wine I always get bought this book! The book is OK, but not very exciting and really pretty corny. If you think Matt Skinner is cool, and you buy into the 'laid-back Aussie' schtick then you might enjoy 'The Juice', however if you are a real wine lover then there are much better guides out there (Oz Clarkes for example). Matt Skinner has moved back to Australia too, so its possible that much of this book is ghost written by other people.

I would give this book only 1 out of 5.

*** after writing this review I have since read an article in the excellent Decanter magazine (13 Nov 2009) in which Skinner admits to suggesting wines he has never tasted - not great for a wine review book!!! ***

2.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant enough, but no substance and a tad pointless., 11 Aug 2009
This book is amusing enough and not all bad, but it is a bit pointless. The book makes no assertions, teaches the reader very little and doesn't have much in the way of history or anecdotes to beef it up. A coffee table book maybe, but not a serious foodie book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Watch., 7 Jan 2009
Great product. Light, looks a million dollars and is full of technology. I love mine and would happily recomend this product to anyone that wants a stylish but practical watch.

3.0 out of 5 stars Populist approach, but a bit weak., 6 Oct 2008
I was looking forward to this book as I often have to explain wine to people for my job and thought that the latest Skinner offering might be a good help. To be honest it isn't really. Its a pretty good attempt to explain wine and answer difficult questions, but in general it feels a bit lightweight and low on the details that would be really useful. Seems to be a lot of 'posed' photos for a wine guide too! Perhaps it was rushed out for Christmas?

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 24 Jun 2008
This review is from: Millennium People (Paperback)
If you like Ballard's themes of what happens when polite society breaks-down then you'll love this book - if you don't ... then you won't!

I loved it. Excellent stuff.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good stocking filler, but not a serious wine guide, 29 Oct 2007
I think this is the third time Matt Skinner has written one of these guides, and whilst it is a decent enough stocking filler, or present for a younger wine drinker, its hard book to use as a guide because many of the wines are expensive, or hard to get hold of.

If there were less pictures (a lot less!), then more wines could be reviewed.
