5.0 out of 5 stars Turkey undone, 21 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is another excellent guide by these DK people. Its well written up to date and full of useful interesting information about Turkey. it is particularly useful in navigating around the tourist and not so touristy areas. Some of the information is a little small in print but it is just about a pocket guide. The chapters which examine Turkeys past are very useful in setting the scene for your journey. Well worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Basic Rush, 9 July 2014
This review is from: Rush ABC 1974 (Audio CD)
This is back to basics raw Rush, its excellent top quality playing of some very good tracks that feature throughout this bands career. It has though been released under other titles in the past so check your collection before buying. However its excellent value from this prolific honest rock band.

Patient Safety and Managing Risk in Nursing (Transforming Nursing Practice Series)
Patient Safety and Managing Risk in Nursing (Transforming Nursing Practice Series)
by (Lecturer in health studies) Melanie Fisher
Edition: Paperback
Price: £17.16

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading for Health Care, 4 July 2014
This is an excellent book that is well written and researched. It is part of 'Transforming Nursing Practice' series which, the ones I have read are very good, relevant to todays caring environment and full of useful information that can be taken into practice. Each chapter commences with its aims and where the topic fits into the NMC Standards and Essential Skill Clusters. Within each chapters there are also activities based around critical thinking, reflection and Evidence Based Practice and Research, three key elements. In addition there is also a glossary of essential terms, web sites to visit and additional reading. Very useful text for the nurse and all other health care practitioners.

4.0 out of 5 stars It gets Darker!, 4 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Its a rough life being a spook or his apprentice! Again as the first two books in this series its a good read a little 'darker' as more of the Spooks secrets come back to haunt him and as for Tom he could do with doing as he was told to keep him out of trouble. Alice's character is becoming more to the fore is she or isn't she? What do you do with witches?

Very small but powerful little torch. Takes one AAA battery which is supplied but lasts for ages. Excellent for seeing the key hole on a dark night but a little bit too small to navigate around with.

Second in the series and still going well. More about the development of Tom Ward as he continues his education at the Spook's hand. Its a good read well written, why did it take so long to find out about this series?

4.0 out of 5 stars Soul Blues Fusion, 19 Jun. 2014
This review is from: In My Soul (Audio CD)
This is exactly what you would expect from the Robert Cray Band, its not ground breaking or revolutionary but very good soul / blues music. Track one starts the album well with 'You Move Me' a light blues track featuring classic Robert Cray vocals, this is followed by a new treatment of the Otis Reading Classic 'Nobody's Fault but Mine' before the album takes a blues ballad turn for a couple of tracks.

My favourite track is 'What would you say' very contemporary lyrics capturing the mood of today, combined with some excellent guitar work. Track 8 is the instrumental 'Hip Tight Onions', an excellent 40th album!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Fantasy Fiction, 19 Jun. 2014
To be honest I was getting a little bit fed up with this genre, but I was persuaded to read this one. Its good no its very good. Well written original and some interesting characters, not to many characters or long lists that you have to refer to on a regular basis. I have bought the next one in the series and hope that the quality continues. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Stuff, 16 Jun. 2014
I have followed this band ever since I saw them at Dubai Desert Rock in 2006 (I think?). This is there best album yet, I know there is much debate about what there music should be labelled as but who cares. The first disc commences with 'Let us burn' a typical Within Temptation track that showcases their unique sound and sets the tone for the rest of this double CD.

The first disc is Within Temptation as they have been in the past but the second I think introduces a much more subtle side to there increasing body of work, I know that this has not gone down well with all their fans but I think that it demonstrates a little maturity. On disc two I particularly enjoyed 'Summertime Madness'. Overall an excellent offering.

Lots of information in this nicely designed double album book / sleeve, which makes a nice change.

Periodic Tales: The Curious Lives of the Elements
Periodic Tales: The Curious Lives of the Elements
by Hugh Aldersey-Williams
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Elemental Tales, 16 Jun. 2014

I liked this book, its full of interesting anecdotes about the elements and how the periodic table has been filling up as the universal science project unfolds. I didn't think that this book was quite as good as Anatomies: The Human Body, Its Parts and The Stories They Tell but that could be my bias for human biology coming to the fore. This book was a little stodgy in places but worth persevering with as the stories of how some of the elements were discovered and their uses is delivered. I think that the author holds a bit of a candle for the frustrated chemist and their unsung, in many areas, part in our understanding of the science project. Interesting and well worth reading, what's next on the authors agenda for similar treatment I wonder?
