Compressport R2 Race & Recovery Calf Guards - Black - T2
Compressport R2 Race & Recovery Calf Guards - Black - T2
Offered by RecoSports
Price: 26.80

5.0 out of 5 stars Calf Guards, 14 Mar 2014

I wasn’t too sure as to just how good the Compressport recovery calf guards would be, but they have exceeded all my expectations. I have found that putting them on 15 minutes before a run works best. They keep the calf’s really well supported, tight but not enough to stop circulation. I think careful use of the sizing guide is the key to a good fit. Pleased to say my tight left calf is now a problem of the past. However, getting the supports off is another matter. I have found that rolling the tops down first and slipping them over the foot is best, but be warned, it’s not an easy operation!

Having a large collection of guitars there’s a lot of string changing goes on here. The string winder is perfect and lives up to Planet Waves quality. The combined cutter is also a nice touch.

After a bit of thought I decided to give the Rotosound standard gauge bass strings a try. And, they have lived up to expectations. Lively clean sounds and slick to play. Very happy!

Always wanted to play the intro licks to Sweet Home Alabama, now I can...after a fashion. Won’t get me into the band, but I’m satisfied with my efforts even if the wife is not so wild about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rodrigo y Gabriela + C.U.B.A., 25 Feb 2012
This review is from: Area 52 (MP3 Download)
Some reviews complain about the album sounding Santanaesque. Well I guess that's a fair comment. However, Rodrigo only seriously picks up the Gibson Les Paul - the first time he's actually used an electric guitar for several years - on track two, Hanuman, where he plays it to perfection albeit in the style and sound of Carlos. For me Diablo Rojo and Juan Loco are the stand out tracks on the CD, but the 13 piece C.U.B.A. are an inspiration and only go to enhance the duo's fabulous talent. Give the album a fair try, however, if you're looking for pure flamenco you could well be disappointed. C.U.B.A. is the big clue!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Crossing re-visited, 26 Dec 2011
This review is from: The Crossing (MP3 Download)
After a gap of 20 years or so, I bought (again) Big Country's `The Crossing' and it has re-enforced to me what a great album it was. Is it me or are Chris Martin and Co are slowly morphing into the Scottish rockers. Coldplay's latest offering has more than a passing hint of the sound the Dunfirmline boys created in the 80's.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Trucks Dynasty, 5 Sep 2011
I've been a fan of Derek Trucks for many years. However, teamed up with his wife Susan Tedeschi, his latest album Revelator, in my opinion, is one of the very best he's produced so far. Tedeschi has a strong gospel edge to her voice and Trucks really lets it shine through never overplaying his solos. Standout tracks are the great groove opener `Come See About Me' and `Bound For Glory' where Tedeschi's gospel roots singing is wonderfully supported by some classic Hammond organ that puts the hairs up on the back of your neck, and Trucks powerhouse Gibson SG slide guitar solos. Wonderful, it's a must have album.

Heard the band on Paul Jones Blues Show on Radio 2 and was blown away. Couldn't wait to get hold of a download and wasn't disappointed...blues at its best!
