Cherub Clip-On Ukulele Tuner
Cherub Clip-On Ukulele Tuner
Price: £5.91

5.0 out of 5 stars Small but perfectly formed, 12 Jun 2013

tiny little box that clips to the end of the neck of the ukelele, can tune to key of C or D- i guessed and went for C after some reading on the net. Works really well. You have to realise that unlike a guitar the strings on a ukelele do not simply get higher up one at a time- the 4th string is in fact higher than the 3rd and the second and first are higher still. Once I worked that out it was plain sailing.

As you can probably tell I am completely un musical and probably almost tone deaf- a tuning device was therefore mandatory for me to have any chance of replicating some of my favourite tunes. £5-6 is a great price for this device and it came next day as ordered.

Only down side and it is an extremely minor one is that the device does not rotate 360 degrees around the clip, it just means you must be gentle when angling the device so you can read it in case it is the wrong way round, so as not to break the join between the clip and the computer bit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, 12 Jun 2013

Ordered this on next day delivery came as promised. Also bought the clip on tuner and a starter book. This is a great instrument for someone who is not in the slightest bit musical. Can play 5 chords after about 3 hours of tuning and practising. This unlocks tunes such as 'sweet home alabama' and also 'Let it be'. Need to practise the strumming and get some idea of how fast you need to go to combine with singing. All in all its a fun thing, the product is what it pupports to be a cheap starter one- I cant see where else you can find something for less than £23 that is so addictive. Seems to be well made- needs tuning every 10 mins or so but I think that this will settle down if anything the other reviewers say is true. Comes in a cute non padded bag. Recomended

1.0 out of 5 stars Not up to scratch - returned, 7 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Returned this product- bought on the Black Friday Deal. On the face of it seems a great thing DAB, FM, ipod dock and internet radio.
Unfortunately it is let down by a few issues.
It looks very cheap- shame really as full price its £130! Even at £83 on special its not acceptable.
It doesn't pick up my wifi, despite me moving it right next to the router
The DAB reception is poor it was placed in the same place as my old Pure evoke and most stations either didn't pick up or suffered from so much interference it made listening unenjoyable
The volume is on a series of intervals and is not very sensitive at low volumes

Hope this review helps

3.0 out of 5 stars another collectible load of small figurines, these are a bit more fun than usual and they bounce!, 18 Nov 2012
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

Cant really see the point of them but that is because I am now Old and do not understand. The kiddies love them and they are quite cute to look at, much nicer than the Moshis and the GoGos that i have had to get in the past. They bounce as well and it is fun trying to aim them to land in their rubbish truck house. Completely pointless but ok.

2.0 out of 5 stars Shame the new version is so poorly made, 18 Nov 2012
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Downfall (Toy)
Used to love this game and bought it for my eldest for a birthday present. Construction is awkward, the toy is flimsy and the cogs do not turn smoothly. Shocking really- not recommended, best to trawl the charity shops and hope an old version pops up as it really is a great game.

2.0 out of 5 stars GPST - out of date, not very helpful, 1 April 2012
This book is extremely brief for the money. Not a lot of practical help, with very little explanation of expected answers. It is also seriously out of date as of 2012. Not recommended by me

The Touch: A Brand-New Necroscope Novel

Edition: Paperback
Price: £9.52

2.0 out of 5 stars not as good as the 'real' necroscope books and no wampyres!, 29 Sep 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not at all up to the usual standards- the baddies were awful, the plot even thinner than usual and the development of the characters minimal. ~I like the original necroscope books but this just wasnt enjoyable for me

4.0 out of 5 stars mini drug book but not a replacement for BNF, 12 May 2010

This review is from: Pocket Prescriber 2010 (Paperback)
a nice small book for prescribing on the wards but soooo many abbreviations mean that unless you read it regularly you will be constantly flipping back and forth to the glossary. Its not a replacement for the BNF. It is a bit sketchy on the drug side effects and doesn't give a full perspective on what side effects are the most common without a fair bit of work to understand how the authors wrote the book

3.0 out of 5 stars pathology questions for ?american post grads, 12 May 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
bought this for uk mbbs finals thinking it was a path book with lots of nice pictures. it does have lots of pictures but is set above the standard required for undergrad finals and is purely questions and is not a textbook. It has sat on the shelf now for the last 12 months but i may use it in the future. it only gets 3 stars as it doesnt do what i thought it would for me, however i may amend this in the future
