This review is from: Lost - Season 6 [DVD] (DVD)
We were introduced to Lost during a time of dramatic transition, as a way to entertain ourselves in the evening. We watched diligently the first seasons, doubting whether the producers were serious or playing jokes with the viewers. Though our daughter alerted us of the "Science Fiction" nature of the series, when the actors were "returning" to the island and there was all the time travel and forcefully and painfully trying to continue the show and fit all the unbelievable loose ends and impossibilities, we were soo ready to throw in the towel. Through endurance and the morbid desire to see the end of it, we bought the final episode and had it mailed from the UK to Switzerland (commitment!). The end was more bewildering than anything before, but I guess we were already used to weirdness at its best! The series could have ended at the end of Season 3. Never mind, it accomplished the objective set out by our daughter and we were able to manage the transition totally distracted by this creation!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great drama and historical account!, 5 May 2013

I requested "Call the Midwife" while waiting for another series and could not be more pleased with my replacement choice! This is a great combination of well-enacted drama plus superb settings of poor London of the 1950s. Additionally, it is a good review of the practices of midwifery in such early days. I am a physician working long on global maternal and perinatal health and it is a joy to watch the origins of what is still a model of community midwifery around the world. To top it, there's plenty of humor and good nature. Bravo!
