6MM Ladies Eternity Titanium Ring Wedding Band with CZ Size O
6MM Ladies Eternity Titanium Ring Wedding Band with CZ Size O
Offered by Ultimate Metals Co.
Price: £199.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Build quality could be an issue, 14 Feb. 2015

It is a lovely ring - looks much more than it is. However, like one of the other reviewers, within an hour of it being worn, a stone fell out (and was lost). I'm reserving further judgement, but if any more were to come out, it would be going back!
Postscript: well, after 2 months, no more stones have fallen out; a small piece of aluminium foil has replaced the missing stone. You wouldn't want to be paying £199.99 for this, but £17.99 is reasonable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sticky, 23 Jan. 2015

Not as thick as I imagined - don't have calipers to measure the thickness; supposedly thicker than some. However, it is definitely sticky and for the price, pretty good value.

The Crime Writer's Handbook (Writers' guides)
The Crime Writer's Handbook (Writers' guides)
by Douglas Wynn
Edition: Paperback

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 4 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's okay, but pretty basic, and if you're looking for information on court procedure, you'll not find much here. Most of what's in this book could be found simply by surfing the internet or watching tv. No great insights here.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bleach by another name, 8 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It undoubtedly works, but really this is just strong bleach - Sodium Hypochlorite. It may be a bit stronger than household bleach, but not much. I know from experience that thick bleach in a sprayer will work about as well - but a bit cheaper. Buyer's should also beware that, like bleach, it will take the colour out of some paints and materials; it's caustic, so not good to breath and will make your eyes water. If the damp problem is bad, it won't prevent it returning - and that can be within days.

2.0 out of 5 stars Short lasting effect, 1 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It does work in as much as the cat doesn't like the smell - orange and peppermint - but this only lasts a couple of hours, at best, then the cat's back to it again, and this is indoors! Outdoors, I'd imagine it would last about 10 minutes, depending on the wind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says, 30 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I concur with all the sentiments echoed in the other reviews so far posted. It's small, so don't expect too much, but it does do what says on the tin (as another review said) and frankly, that's about as much as you can ask.

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE (or other reviews), 25 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Do Not Believe The Hype! I'm sorry, but this really isn't very effective. It may be true that it is 40% better than other similar products, but quite honestly, if that's the case, then it would need to be 500% better to actually be of any real use. We have a major condensation problem: if we sponged down all the moisture and squeezed it out, it would probably fill a bucket some days. The very fact that the device has collected a minimal quantity of water over a number of days, indicates that it is pretty ineffective; that combined with the fact that there is no discernible difference to the condensation level proves that this device is only of very limited value. Quite why there are so many positive reviews (and so few negative) is a mystery to me, though I suspect this is one of those 'King's new clothes' type scenarios, where people are largely kidding themselves that it works. I can't say that it is of no use whatsoever, but do not expect any miracles, or in fact, very much at all. If you have a small damp issue, then it might be worth a try - it is reasonably priced for what it is, I suppose, it just doesn't really work.

Postscript: I have since acquired an electric dehumidifier [by Duronic]. Just a small one (cost £30 delivered, though was half-price), which can collect up to 500ml at a time; it doesn't even have a condenser and only uses 22.5W ( 24h equivalent to having a 100W light bulb on for 5.5 hours - something we all did quite happily a few years ago); it is also very quiet and does not require expensive refill tablets. Having given it a good test, I would estimate that it collects about 5-10 times as much water (p/h) as the Aero 360 - which is, incidentally, about the level I suggested above as the minimum to be of any real value. This is still not a huge volume of water, it should be recognized; to collect large volumes of water requires industrial sized ones, which are big, noisier, expensive to buy and very expensive to run.

In conclusion, there is no cheap solution to solving damp/condensation problems. As for the Aero 360, I'm afraid it amounts to no more than a glorified deodorizer, which requires expensive refills that last about a week. Nuff said.

Eden: The Biblical Garden Discovered in East Africa
Eden: The Biblical Garden Discovered in East Africa
by Gert Muller
Edition: Paperback
Price: £9.75

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and credible, 9 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The author presents a fairly convincing theory, which draws heavily on reference material, the pertinent parts of which are quoted; however, it is not always clear what the reference is specifically contributing to the thesis - this isn't the author's fault per se, but perhaps more explanation is sometimes required, as many elements of the theory are quite complex. My only real criticism though, is the lack of maps, which would greatly enhance the readers experience and understanding. Overall, though ultimately a subjective theory, there is certainly credibility in the idea that Genesis was derived (at least in part) from ancient African traditions and there is an overarching logic to it, assuming that the references are accurately reflected and have some solid basis - which (unfortunately) would require considerable time and effort to check; but it is possible for those sufficiently inclined.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware of this product..., 28 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A lot of the reviews for this product are alarming and it may be prudent to take note of them. My experience is that there is certainly an incompatibility with newer dell models which use a power lead of a different design and which have a 1.6A input, as opposed to the 1.5A of this product and older versions of Dell's power lead. That said, the old 1.5A power lead I have, works fine with the newer laptop....?
Have not used this product for long enough to assess its safety or reliability, but it actually looks fine, but there are grammatical errors on the transformer which does not bode well - see 1 star reviews. What I can say is that it my Inspiron N5040 does not like this device - however, I now realise that the product description on Amazon actually states M5040 [unclear what difference this makes] - but "seems" to work fine with an older Inspiron 1150. Also, when I received this product, I realised that it had a 13 Amp fuse in the plug - this should be a 5 Amp! When I replaced this fuse, one of the end caps came away! I have never known a fuse disintegrate like this...It was of very poor quality and doesn't inspire confidence. My advice is to use a 3 Amp fuse with this device, just in case.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting overview, 6 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Though originally published in 1905, it is surprisingly readable. Despite myself being an atheist, I have in interest in biblical history and some familiarity with the content of the bible: this book has expanded by knowledge and understanding of the old testament writings and was an enjoyable read. The only negative would be the proliferation of references - though admittedly, not unjustified - which do break up the text; that said, if you can make the effort to check all those references, I imagine that it would enhance the usefulness of this book - so more an observation than a criticism. I will certainly refer to this book in the future.
