4.0 out of 5 stars Great music, shame about the cover...., 4 May 2011
This review is from: The Best Of Suede (Audio CD)
I know all the music on this is great .... but that cover!! It's appalling ! It looks like the gcse homework of a 15-year-old goth who's seen too many copies of 'The Scream' by Munch . I know people don't care much about artwork now, but I remember when Suede released 12"s and LP's which had ART on them. Not art homework.

This is a great cd. Try looking for it on Head Heritage where the money goes to the artist, not unscrupulous sellers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Missed Opportunity..., 23 Sept. 2009
I have to agree with Mr. Top Cat; what a bodge job this is. No 'Uptight', no 'Port of Saints', no 'Bagged-Out Ken' and no Hiphoprisy versions of 'Soldier Blue', tchah! .... Island could have left off some of the remixes which have been available for years on the 'Dancing Heads' e.p.. Even the booklet in my copy is cocked up with two pages being printed twice... A five star album given a three star reissue.

5.0 out of 5 stars You've Missed Your Chance...., 12 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Prevention (Audio CD)
... to see this great band live; 'coz they've split up in the face of public indifference. Shame on the Coldplay buying hordes who've ignored these master craftsmen, they'll probably never know what they've missed which just makes it all the more sad. A great band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply stunning..., 17 July 2009
This is one of the finest photographic records of a country - ever . Forget the hundreds of books containing picture postcard views of castles and kilts or , even worse , bogus celtic myticism . Marzaroli captures Scotland in the 20th century as it is; beautiful and beautifully ugly. Why his name isn't more widely praised is a mystery to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just a quick note !, 16 May 2006
This review is from: The Platinum Collection (Audio CD)
Just wanted to say that ,with reference to Shauns' review above ; 'Hit It' was released on the U.S. only c.d. version of 'What Is Beat?'

Yes I know this makes me look like the saddest trainspotter on the block ,but - hey,I love this band ! (the U.S. cd also has some choice rarities and live stuff which isn't on anything else,so it's worth tracking down).

As for this latest compilation ; you're much better off getting all three original albums because there really isn't a bad track on any of them.

And ,if you can find it ,the 2cd version of the 'B.P.M.' compilation as it has loads of the original 12" mixes on ,and they rock !
