An easy read, 6 Nov 2008
Foundations of nursing an integrated approach is well
written, the format of the book makes it easy to follow.
The large section on the nurses role is fantastic as it will give anyone
who is just starting out on the path to becoming a nurse a great insight
into this very important role.
The majority of this book is dedicated to body systems, describing them
and discussing their function and structure. It also helps to explain
how to apply theory to practice.
I found the exercises and small quizes throughout the book very usefull
and believe that they would be a good source for revision for students.
I was particually impressed with the inclusion of chapters on the
Learning disability, mental health and child branches as these are often
left out of general nursing books.
The only negative thing about this book is that i think the first aid
section could have been larger but it was still nice to have it in the
The glossery was also really usefull as not everyone understands all
terms used in nursing books.
