5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic value, 21 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The first four books about scottish policeman Hamish Macbeth, beautifully written, amusing and light hearted reads, I think there are about 26 books in the series you don't have to read them all in order but it does help to do so when trying to keep up with his love life!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hatcher Family Must Have.., 28 July 2011
This review is from: The Colour of Life (Paperback)
I read the whole book cover to cover without putting it down once. It is a very emotional journey through my own family history starting with the slave trade to the 1900's. A fascinating insight into the lives of people in service and of african origin. It is impossible to imagine how dreadfully poor these people where and the choices and sacrifices they made. Interesting to anyone with a love of history and totally compelling to a surviving family member like myself as the author says "these are your roots"
Many thanks to Jill Williams and Barbara Long for showing me mine
Percy George Hatcher's grandaughter and proud to be so x

i have 3 boys aged 7, 5, and 3 and they love these books. They are drawing/colouring books on each page there is an idea for you to follow on and create. The book will have a picture of a giant and the rest of the page is blank with a question like what will the giant eat for dinner? and you have to fill in the rest of the picture, so gets them thinking and keeps them quiet superb!!!
