Theodore Boone
Theodore Boone
by John Grisham
Edition: Hardcover

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, 25 July 2010
This review is from: Theodore Boone (Hardcover)
As with other reviewers i was not aware that this was for younger readers, but even so this is a very poor effort from an author who has delivered so much more in the past. The protagonist is unbelievable and quite frankly the plot is very thin, at no point was I engaged as a reader. I wouldn't recommend this for younger readers either as they deserve a little more that an episode of law and order (and a poor one at that) in print!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars could be the best one!!!!, 9 Jun 2010
This review is from: The Concrete Blonde (Paperback)
I am a big fan of connelly and have read nearly all the harry bosch series but missed out on a couple of the earlier titles so decided to catch up while awaiting the new book in October , and I think the Concrete Blonde may be the best of the entire lot. Gripping from the very beginning, you will be hooked, great stuff!!

For Richer, for Poorer: A Love Affair with Poker
For Richer, for Poorer: A Love Affair with Poker
by Victoria Coren
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars really enjoyable, 7 Jun 2010
I found this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read, Coren has a witty writing style and is able to bring the game alive on the page which I guess can't be easy!!! She has met many interesting characters throughout her poker career and the depiction of devilfish is very funny and exactly how I imagined he would be, this book is a must read for all you poker nerds, like myself, but it is not inaccessible to those who don't play, you just might need to learn a few rules first because the terminology is quite dense!! I loved it though and would highly recommend it!!!
