5.0 out of 5 stars the winning days are here!, 18 Jun 2004
This review is from: Winning Days (Audio CD)
The first vines album "highly evolved" crashed onto the scene in 2002 to rave reviews and became a modern day classic debut along with "defiantly maybe" and "is this it", but can attempt number two match up?
the answer is simply yes....although you will have read reviews telling you it lacks the swagger and bite of "highly evolved" this album offers a range of more dreamy and slower epic tunes.
there are some songs which would not sound out of place on "highly evolved" such as the comeback single "ride" or "f*ck the world". But there are songs that differ from it as well, such as "rainfall" "sun child" and second single "winning days".
the world must realise that the vines have had to move on to a more melodic and calmer state and although the album takes time to grow on its listener (unlike the bands debut) it actually turns out to be a more rewarding and musically mature record.
This is a record that was needed to be made and shows that the vines music is beginning to reach its full potential.

5.0 out of 5 stars stop....., 6 Feb 2004
this caps oasis return to form.....a million miles away from there opening single (the rock filler the hindu times) stop crying you're heart out is in the mold of "dont look back in anger" or "wonderwall" this epic ballard opens with liam telling us to "hold on" and "not to be scared".
its a fantastic second single from the boys from manchester and will hae you in tears by the end!.
nb: if you can pick up the extra "DVD version" then you will get some great extras aswell as this sentimental lighter waving song.

5.0 out of 5 stars the hindu times........, 6 Feb 2004
This review is from: The Hindu Times [DVD] (Audio CD)
it appers to me that the oasis boys where robbing me as they released 2 singles (one in the normal format-audio and one in the dvd format) but after buying both i now see that toughter they are amazing!!! the DVD single has the song (the hindu times) the hindu times demo where you can see how the song had developed and a 10 min documentry of the band in america in june 2002,
the 10 min documentry is funny (with liams usual behivour) and shows the viewer a differnt side of the band! all in all well worth buying 2 singles, -good song -great DVD

5.0 out of 5 stars rock 'n' roll, 5 Feb 2004
This review is from: Rock N Roll (Audio CD)
This is the first Ryan Adams album i have listened to and sure shallow sounds like an early oasis song and yes the forthcoming single "this is it" sounds like the strokes and yes so alive the first single sounds like it was written by bono and co but....it does not bother me this record can compare with the multi platinum selling oasis,u2 and the strokes and would advise any one who likes alt-country or rock and roll its-self to try!
look out for the tracks "so alive" "do miss America", "boys" and the sad but uplifting “rock ‘n’ roll”
a fantastic effort from Mr.Admas to rival his “gold” L.P
