2.0 out of 5 stars Fraudulent 5 star ratings, 3 Nov. 2015

I still had vermin in the wall a week after this thing was switched on maximum performance - so all guns were firing. However, they seem to have now gone so it might have actually worked.

The worst thing about this product's listing on Amazon is the number of false reviews probably written by Frostfire employees/agents in Asia giving obviously false reviews in poor English. I have reduced my 3 star rating because of this fraud.

2.0 out of 5 stars Only for those based in the USA!, 18 Nov. 2014
It's ok. Please note this is an American book written by an American accountant which focuses solely on the American tax system for American small businesses of up to c.$5M in turnover. It is of little use to those outside of the USA, especially the tax advice given.

Ok, some of the content is useful such as the ethical aspects of paying taxes and recording your income and expenditure correctly, etc, but you should be able to get his information from most books on general accounting and book keeping.

Overall if you are not based in the USA, it is best to avoid this pretty dry book, since you are unlikely to get much value out of it. I am a British chartered accountant so I do know one or two things about accounting and taxation, and I know that this book will not be of much use to British and other European small businesses.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless marketing advice for real startups!, 11 Sept. 2014
Yet another book from the good 'ol USA rambling on about 'Marketing for Startups'. The problem with this book, like most of them being churned out by those guys from Silicon Valley only focus on startups in the tech world. They tell you that their "practical" advice equally applies to non-tech startups, but don't believe them, since it is simply not true!

Believe it or not, not all startups are creating software products, or trying to be the next Google. Sometimes entrepreneurs actually want to create something more practical and useful than yet another mobile app, or some piece of technology. Yes, actually something that is not Tech or web-based! Equally the marketing required to be successful is not going to be all tweeting, blogging and facebooking either.

It would be much more useful if these people who write such modern day marketing books actually offered something down-to-earth and practical to the other 99% of entrepreneurs who start a business that is not a tech-based business. Now that would really be something useful to write about.

If you are a budding entrepreneur and seeking some really useful practical real world marketing advice try "The Ultimate Small Business Marketing Book" by Dee Blick.

A great product - I have ordered these before. They are as good as the originals but so much cheaper and therefore better value. Also the supplier ships extremely fast (2 days from order to delivery in Germany!) Highly recommended product on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great info for learners of all ages, 10 Jun. 2014
Despite a lot of common sense being preached in this book, there is a lot of highly valuable information backed up with a lot of scientific evidence to how our brains learn. The book is great at dispelling many myths prevalent in today's society about the brain and learning, such as our brains are able to multitask, which is clearly not true.

Anyone looking for some magic formula or technique for super quick learning will be disappointed. The bottom line is that effective learning will take time, but can be enhanced by getting appropriate amounts of sleep (7.5-9hrs per night), paying attention to what is being taught, getting regular aerobic exercise and plenty of regular rest and refreshment.

A great little read that is highly informative for learners of all ages.

1.0 out of 5 stars For the very very stupid!, 21 Nov. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The simplicity of this book is astounding. It is clearly aimed at those who can hardly read and write, and cannot count. If you have an IQ below '50' then this book is for you. In fact if someone has to read this book to get the advice contained inside, they should really ask themselves whether they should really be self employed business people (or the owner of a company) in the first place.

Kelly, the author has clearly got his friends and family to write rave reviews about this 'book' here on Amazon. It is NEVER worth 5 stars in a 1,000 years - unless you are one of those with an IQ below 50. I thought it was a joke.

Buy it if you want to waste your money and to have your intelligence insulted.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not an easy book for people who work in real world, 12 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Despite the numerous 5 star "friends and family" book reviews, this is nevertheless an interesting book written by a couple of senior guys from McKinsey Consulting on the subject of sustained organisational performance. However the book is very dry reading and I think it offers little practical help to managers and leaders who work for the vast majority of companies in the real world. The book offers an interesting perspective at what the authors called performance and health factors which leads to companies being sustained market leaders in their respective fields. The book is also packed with plenty of high level research carried out by McKinsey to back up their narrative.

In my opinion this is not a book that can easily be used by managers/leaders to change their organisation into one that repeatedly outperforms its competition. I personally did not feel any creative light bulb lighting up in my head after reading this book.

For a much more useful, readable book based on a similar theme, but with more practical application for managers and leaders is a great book by Professor Andre de Waal from the High Performance Institute. What Makes A High Performance Organization: Five Validated Factors of Competitive Advantage That Apply Worldwide This book is highly recommended over this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it, 26 Sept. 2013

This review is from: BGI Strategy on a Page (Paperback)
This book is clearly aimed at the small business and those without a formal business education. It is a very good at explaining the key parts of a good strategy in simple terms.

There is a little repetition and self promotion by the author in the book, but nevertheless it does a good job in covering the key points that matter in developing a business strategy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter Rubbish!, 23 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This product is supposed to turn greying hair to its natural colour, but it does not work, at least for me.

I have been using this product for over 2 weeks now, strictly following the instructions provided, but the only thing it has done is turn my normal dark brown hair to a reddish medium brown colour. It has done nothing for the grey/white bits of hair around my ears and sides that I have been trying to turn to my natural dark colour. I am now concerned about using this product on my hair again.

I certainly do not recommend it to anyone wanting to colour greying hair to dark brown as it does not appear to work.

I am not keen on dying my hair so if anyone has a recommendation for a gradual grey-removing product that actually works, please comment here to help me and other potential purchasers.
