5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Quality, 7 Feb 2012
I purchased this as a treat for myself as I'm doing a Postgrad course at university. The first thing that hits you when you open it from its packaging which was good quality is the smell of good leather which did it for me! It's exceptionally good quality. Thick leather and double stitched everywhere, quality lining throughout and sturdy metal fastenings. Plenty of room inside its compartments and very functional pockets inside. Slightly Larger than A4 so nothing needs to be forced in it is capable of carrying two A4 ringbinders upside down inside comfortably. It has a lock on the opening which although not high security would dissuay the opportunist on the train for example. I am very pleased with this product and the service - the company answered questions promptly prior to purchase. One small gripe if I have to be critical is that the buckle on the carry strap is in the way of the chafe protector moving fully to sit on your shoulder where it should be, but like I said, if I have to be critical. It would certainly not dissuay me from highly recommending it. An exceptional product for the discerning gentleman!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark edged and Dirty House, 2 Sep 2010
This review is from: Welcome to New York (Audio CD)
This was an impulse purchase made whilst traveling in America. I'd never heard of David Waxman before but liked the sound of the write up and was informed by the staff that he is a big thing out there. Tracks included DJs Satoshi Tomiie, X Press and songs like Sputnik which I like so I went for it. It has been one of the best impulse purchases I have made and I constantly go back to it.

The track order takes you on a journey, often dipping into the really dark edge of house 'You think you're Jesus' and 'I am the Drum' and back into the uplifting with tracks like 'Everything will Flow' by Suede which is fantastic. I don't have a song I dislike on here and have it on my faves list for my Ipod. I couldn't categorise it with anything British as it has no distinct feel all the way through but that is what makes it so good! Reminds me of clubbing in the darker nightclubs - Wilkie House in Edinburgh back in the early 2000's! Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Amazing!, 4 Aug 2010
This has to be one of the best purchases I've made here! When I play my Ipod through these speakers I cannot help but be amazed at the sound that comes from them. The clarity is truly amazing for something so small and recently at a party this was all I used on the coffee table and there was no need to have the volume up full. No bad bass vibrations taking away from the quality but not lacking in it either.

It has won awards for its class and rightly so. I had been researching which to buy and always prefer consumer reviews for the lack of bias and did not regret making this purchase (550+ reviews and 5 star? come on!). I have already ordered a second generation to 'buddy up' with this one. Not because I think I need it (although the manufacturer states there are some improvements in sound) but because I just need to see the effect two will have - you can daisy chain as many as you want.

The speaker itself is the size of a very small apple and wonderfully portable. it twists and opens up for the system to be exposed and the build quality feels good in your hands. wires kept short, it charges through a USB and lasted all night. would recommend purchasing it with a wall socket charger pack as you may not always have access to USB but it's beautiful in its simplicity and everyone said at the party it would be their next purchase!

The only potential minus as we cannot/should not be bias for a worthy review is the fact it can move across the table when there is a high amount of bass - if you left this on a shelf there is potential for it to be damaged if it drops from a height - dragging your ipod with it, so support it if you can - a wide ash tray may even enhance the sound!

SanDisk 4GB Micro Cruzer - Retail Pack
SanDisk 4GB Micro Cruzer - Retail Pack

2.0 out of 5 stars Robust?!, 23 Aug 2009
I have no idea how anyone can say this is robust - It has a very cheap feel to it and the plastic is so thin you'd have to be careful you don't put too much weight on it (sitting on it if it's on a key chain in your pocket). The sliding mechanism that holds the male USB end in place isn't designed well and when inserting it into a USB port has to be held forward manually to stop it sliding back into the main body and not plugging in correctly.

The driver that adds extra RAM for the computer works on my PC without a problem but causes major disruption on my laptop, the screen constantly flickers and the CPU is running at max all the time meaning it takes ages to get round to doing anything other than normal functioning taht I have asked of it. Obviously my software may have something to do with it but my point is that you should not assume it's plug and play even with the driver software and install wizard.

I should think the best use would be to plug it in and leave it at a rear USB on your PC because you cannot complain about the price for what it does/is and you can just forget about it.

1.0 out of 5 stars *NOT FOR THE ICN550*, 27 Mar 2008
I bought this product because I had lost the charger for my SATNAV ICN550. When it arrived I plugged it in and although the light came on, it didn't charge at all.

What it does charge however is my Sony mini MP3 player which could only previously be charged through a usb port, which was something of a bonus! 2 days later I found my satnav charger in the back of the car! a happy ending but not the reason I ordered it!!

3.0 out of 5 stars You can't please everyone......., 27 Oct 2007
I purchased this CD with some trepidation as I've slowly watched an amazing brand lose some of its earlier morals of steering away from the charts and showing music fans what can be found out there. Little coincidence I think that things took a bad turn with the departure of a certain key figure from the label.

Twisted is by far my favourite of the collections and I am extremely biased toward them! In this case, sadly, I feel the latest edition was something of a letdown from the second I heard `Party all the time' (my girl wants to). Bearing in mind this was fresh off the charts - then it just continued with several more straight out the production line.

Now don't get me wrong - it is a good CD and you can really hear the fact it has been thoroughly washed in a Hed Kandi Twisted washing machine - that I'm sure would be great to dance and listen to in a Hed Kandi club. There are some stonkin' tunes that really get you going and if this was an off spin in it's own right (from a club night for example) I would be glad to own and recommend it, but it's not. It's Twisted Disco by Hed Kandi and instead of sourcing from the yonder (and there is some amazing stuff comin' out of the American and Canadian scene that is not touching the commercial charts) they are now sat in front of MTV dance chart and putting them through the aforementioned washing machine.

I like it, I really do, but if like me, you were a die-hard fan of what they previously did, then you're gonna' be disappointed. Buy it, you'll like it, I'd give it 4 maybe even 4.5 stars in it's own right - but die hard fans - take out the sleeve and pretend it's not happened! I give it 3 simply for the fact it spells the end for me if it continues like this. Like I said, you can't please everyone!!

1.0 out of 5 stars That'll teach me!, 4 July 2007
Oh my god how horribly dissappointing! I really should have read the synopsis!
I ordered this cos it was a 3 cd box set of a vampire series I'd never heard of and I snapped it up as it had the word vampire on it (anything to do with vampires and I'm a sucker for it! no pun intended!)
Turned out to be soft porn - really bad soft porn. Terrible acting, terrible effects and terrible plot. Stay well clear of it - I couldn't even get passed the first hour of it and I can think of no redeeming features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for me, mind!! (review for the men), 2 May 2007
This review is from: The Goddess Guide (Hardcover)
Bought this after doing some research, as I like to go the extra mile when shopping for my girlfriend!!

I can certainly say it earnt me the brownie points as my girlfriend really loves it. it was an unexpected bonus for her and the package promises an invite to untold secrets of the fashionistas, with hints and tips for the successful living of the female kind.

Personally I found it a little pretentious - promising things that I expect will stay out of her reach unless she finds someone worthier who doesn't slave for the NHS. But then it wasn't for me!!

4 stars for the points it'll get you. 'nuff said.

3.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars?, 15 April 2007
This review is from: Stereo Sushi 1 (Audio CD)
It's exactly as it states in the description; soulful and deep. It was the other reviews that persuaded me to buy this CD in the hope that this and the others in the series deserved the 4.5 stars. Truth be told I wasn't overly impressed. There was nothing particularly catchy or that stood out. I have found the ideal use for it though - Dinner parties with mates that are really into their house music! While you wouldn't play this as a build up to a night out, I played this while entertaining friends that I go clubbing with to house music nights (the funky uplifting kind) and it was the perfect addition to the ambience of the evening, and several comments were made on it being an ideal addition to the evening. For this reason it would get a 4.5-5 star for definite, otherwise I have much better CD's I'd rather play at times away from the dining table!

Sony CDX-DAB6650 - In Car CD player with DAB Radio
Sony CDX-DAB6650 - In Car CD player with DAB Radio

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for myself!, 6 Feb 2007
Had to take it to Halfords to get it fitted as I'm not technically minded and it had to be done behind the dash of my new model fiesta sport which at 40 quid was not cheap! I bought a seperate monster cable which plugs into the back for my mp3 player and fed into the glove box - so no need for a multi disk changer! (the guy in halfords said it was the best DAB available - if you'd give that credit!)

I have to say the sound is fantastic - when you select normal tuner and listen to, say radio 1, it will recognise it has it as a DAB station and automatically switch it over, but before it does you get the 'before and after' effect and you can truly hear the difference! unobtrusive DAB aerial for the edge of the windscreen and not a wire in sight. never had a problem with signal yet.

If like me, you're no boy racer and don't care about the amps, speakers and bass boxes etc and are just after the DAB experience for your car - then I highly reccommend this stereo to you. (I have no idea about it's suitability to a complete in-car audio system!) I research anything like this (anything over 20 quid actually!) and this is the flagship sony DAB car stereo. (I'm slightly bias toward purchasing sony being a sonyphile!)

It suits my needs perfectly - no more CD's, nothing too complicated, tonnes better than the factory fit, I now have DAB which is amazing for the extra choice and it's sony!
