Great movie, 22 April 2009
Having lived in Africa most of my life, I can relate to this story far more than most of the people writing reviews here. They probably have never seen a lion in the flesh and have never seen the way the wind moves through the dry grass on the plains of Africa.
Try to show some respect. Do yourselves a favour and read the book. This movie is based on that book by Colonel John Henry Patterson. I think the movie does justice to the very real terror that those men had to face back then. Imagine going from the UK with nothing but a "civilised" upbringing into darkest Africa as it was back then in the 1890s and still is to this day....
There were no machine guns back then.
Jaws came AFTER this story.
Get your facts straight and show some respect.
This movie is great and will make your hair stand on end if you've ever camped under the African sky before and heard lions roaring.
With your lack of fear due to ignorance, you'd be the first ones the lions would snack on!
