3.0 out of 5 stars Should have been better., 27 July 2012

Being an avid fan of anything to do with football results and line ups I eagerly awaited the arrival of this offering.
I must say I have found it hard going as all the information is crammed in with the team line up and it is making it a difficult read rather than an enjoyable one. It has taken me about two hours to trawl through the first thirty pages and it is hard on the eyes as well. You get three matches per page, although in some instances a game can be spread over two pages and it is set out as though you are reading a novel, an example of what you can expect is a follows.

Rodriguez,Carlos BARRIONUEVO Pistillo(ARG)(YC54)(60'Juan Carlos BAZALAR
Cruzado), Aldo ftalo OLCESE Vasallo(82'Luis Alberto HERNANDEZ Diaz),Jefferson

The above is two lines from one match, you also have the rest of the two teams including red & yellow cards and substitutions, as well as times, which makes for difficult reading.

I believe it could have been done better, but is possibly done in this form because of cost.

2.0 out of 5 stars Major Failure, 2 July 2012
This review is from: Beck,Bogart & Appice (Audio CD)
I have to say this album was a major dissapointment and is probably for hardend Beck followers only. Given the potential of the three members of the band, for me, fell way short of expectations as well as the live performance at the Rainbow. I for one feel an opportunity was missed here and they came up short on material and quality.

If your a Beck fan you will add it to your collection, if your not, part with your money at your own risk.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Bit of A Downer, 30 April 2012
After the first two albums, I found SMP a major dissapointment. Some solid songs, but sadly lacking that get up and go feeling, more a case of just going through the motions. I have not replaced this on CD and occasionally give the album a spin and sadly it still lacks that something special. For me it lacked so much of what they gave live and the next album would have to be something exceptional if the band were to make it big or be confined to the club and pub circuit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best album, 30 April 2012

This was the second album by the band and surely thier best. Some cracking rock songs with a couple of melodic tunes thrown in for good messure. The live act was was truly superb and was surprised this album did not make the band, but on the current form it would not be long before the break through came.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Debut Album, 30 April 2012

For a bunch of kids who were about my age group this was a truly excellent record. Certainly most tracks were quality music and the future looked bright if they coould improve the material in years to come. The live act was something else and having seen them at various venues in the London area, I felt sure they would go a long way in the music business and success would be just around the corner.

2.0 out of 5 stars Almost Over, 30 April 2012
This review is from: Mudanzas (Audio CD)
For me this was the poorest album to date. Too many lifeless songs and so far removed from the live performances, it was probably just for the hard core fans. I still have my copy, but it rarely gets played these days, unlike the first two albums, which have been replaced by CD. Probably the begining of the end for the band, imho.

This song is amazing, the lyrics are lovely, and Adam's voice as always is beautiful. Can't wait for the new album to be released in July in the UK. If Better Than I Know Myself is anything to go by, it will be wonderful!!

For me this went on far too long and the plot just vanished early on. Some strange idea's as well. A german airman hanging his backside out of the plane in an attempt to "bomb" a Red Cross ship and being shot in the head with a flare pistol, a remarkable feat in itself. the remaing German planes them blow the Ship out of the water, with the leading lady surviving and reaching safety by hanging onto a mine, which dramactically, then goes back out to sea and sinks a passing ship, which had ignored her pleas for help in the first place. Far too long and rambling film, most of which should probably, have been left on the cutting room floor.

Yorkshire: v. 2: The West Riding (British Railways Past & Present)
Yorkshire: v. 2: The West Riding (British Railways Past & Present)
by Paul Shannon
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Past & Present, 15 Dec. 2011
These books are a really enjoyable view and read, pictures of the railways in the heyday and how they are now. Many places I have been too are now housing estates or out of town shopping centres. I have collected these books over a number of years and they still bring a reminder of my train spotting youth. This particular book is some what of a rarerity, but you can obatain the current version (2011) for about £20, includes postage. If you want the 2005 version you might well have too pay a considerable amount. As with most things rare or difficult to find, its a case of I have therefor if you want this copy, you must pay the piper.
