5.0 out of 5 stars Sparkling Streisand, 8 Oct. 2012
This review is from: Release Me (Audio CD)
An amazing offering from an amazing artiste. Barbra never fails to deliver music and songs that are top of their class. Her recordings, spanning an exceptional 50 plus years, have been a constant companion through my life. Her "Happening in Central Park" album was the first that I ever purchased as a teenager. Her voice, her extraordinary talent is, for me, beyond compare. This cd is a joy - and the fact she she has personally picked these tracks to re-visit adds to this album's charm and delight. A must-purchase for all Streisand fans. You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Barbra ... and here's to the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional, 14 May 2009
This review is from: Within My Walls (Audio CD)
It's difficult to find the words that can fitfully describe the beauty of this album. Idan Raichel is a god among musicians. His talent and skill at writing and crafting mesmeric and hauntingly beautiful melodies is second to none. If all men were like him, there would be no animosity or war in this world .... I salute his peace mission and long may he continue to bring Arabs and Israelis together to make music whilst inviting other amazing vocalists and musicians (from Spain, Cape Verde, Morrocco, Sth Africa etc etc) to contribute to his Project.
I was fortunate to see him perform live recently at the Bloomsbury Theatre. Exceptional. I LOVE this man. Go buy this album now. You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Edge of the Seat Stuff!!, 12 Jan. 2005
This is an amazing piece of film work. Its not fiction - but a reconstruction of an actual event that occured in the Andes. I was gripped from beginning to end. The story is interspersed with interviews with the two climbers and a colleague who stayed at the base camp. The re-telling of the sequence of events is so real that you almost feel that you are there with them ....... all I can say is that I'm really glad I wasn't.
What really struck me was the emotive aspect of the story - without giving too much away, how both climbers responded to the situations they found themselves in - in realtion to each other also.
Fantastic stuff, a triumph of human spirit and strength. Watch and be amazed!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get the "flow" back into your life with this book., 25 Feb. 2004
If it hadn't have been for Mohini, her style of yoga and the way in which she puts it across, I would never have become a yoga teacher myself.
When you start to practice yoga it can be really difficult to formulate or construct your own daily practice. "Yogaflows" provides the practitioner with an extremely well structured sequence of asanas (postures) linked with the breath. Over a period of time the sequences are learned and the postures become part of a linked series rather than individual poses. The postures become more than just a collection of actions - the practice develops into a vibrant and energetic union of our inner and outer environments.
This book is beautifully produced with lots of fabulously clear photos, colour-coded sections for the different intensity levels of the flows, a whole section on the transitions between poses and a very detailed glossary at the back which includes all the postures in the flows plus their variations.
My advice? Get the book - its a joy to read and Mohini's sense of fun really shines through. "Yogaflows" will help you to take your yoga off the mat and incorporate it into your everyday life. And at £10.99 (m.r.p.) .... well, thats a real bargain. Thanks Mohini, this is a real gift.
