This was a really deep book which talks about metaphor and its ability to transcend language, the transference of aspects of one object to another object, so that the second object may be spoken of as if it we're the first.... brilliant a must have!!!

The authors of this book have thoroughly research their work, and for me reading this book was like a revelation, it confirmed all that I questioned and confirmed that I was not insane, that religions (in the established institutions such as Christianity) were hiding something, I was brought up in a strict Christian Background, but was always rebellious and I'd ask my mother so many questions to do with Christianity and its effects was only youngster then.., fast forwarding to the present in my gut I knew there was something deeper I needed to search and this I found whilst surfing the net, it talks about the Goddess and the world religion's efforts to to get rid of the Goddess, if you want to look deeper into Christianity this book will fill you in nicely. Good job Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy. I read this book quite a while back almost two years ago and don't know why I didn't write a review for it anyway this is it.

I enjoyed listening to this album but this album doesn't stand out for me, I'd prefer listening to Van Morrison's Astral Weeks, Moondance and Hard-nose The Highway personally, I enjoy country music but for some reason this doesn't do for me, maybe in a couple of months it'll grow on me, as many albums do but for now three stars

I think this album is grower, as a producer Ghost has skills and as a lyricist he's very articulate and laconic, the music is very diverse and very experimental definitely in a good way, I was pondering his lyrics over the internet some of the lyrics incorrect, but yet he has the ability to create a vast range nuances with his lyrical impressions, is he saying this or is he saying that? either way he seems to be enjoying himself doing it would highly recommend that you get this

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Album, 10 Mar 2014

I especially love This Blue World, Fly Boy Blue/ Lunette, New York Morning, Real Life Angel, Honey Sun, My Sad Captains, Colour Fields, The Blanket of Night, these songs alone would have done the job, I'm not too sure about their political views (they can be quite scathing especially the former MP lyric and Charge track is very divisive and reminds of football hooliganism and ageism it also has swearing which to me is not needed) but musically they are very gifted.

I really do hope they release an acoustically stripped down version of the album, just to hear Guy's wonderful voice a bit more, the album's title's track drowned out his voice and is the noisest track and the only one I didn't really like but apart from that and a few other minor missteps its an enjoyable play through to the end experience, I been repeated listening, and its lyrics are very heart felt and poignant, and would highly recommend to new and old fans alike

Update 11/03/14: I love Build A Rocket Boys, it was produced in a fresh way, it was new in approach and direction, Asleep In The Back (the debut) was overly arching in the dark, Cast Of Thousands also, Leaders Of The Free World was very much emotionally charged album, The Seldom Seen Kid had as an official reviewer said this autumnal melancholy, but I believe that this album sustains a proper balance between dark and light its not always easy to achieve

I was keeping this album to five stars and it proved right the The Take Off And Landing Of Everything title track has grown on me this is definitely a slow burner album that with a concentrated listening will bring forth rewards, well done Elbow on another brilliant album

Elbow do it again, I've heard some of the original and now I hear the complete version in acoustic, sweet music to my ears, what can I say Elbow are the best band I've ever heard in the history of music and their experimental record prove this I hope they drop an acoustic version of the album as well as the original, and I also love the blanket of night acoustic on the Guardian website [...] well done Elbow you deserve the best

I'll be brief, I love every single track on this album, this is very experimental and hip in places and low-key in others, this is on par with their other albums The Last Broadcast, Some Cities and Lost Sides, This band keeps on growing Jimi Goodwin is an incredible so is the one half of the Williams brothers, definitely a great purchase

I sincerely don't understand the fascination in this album, honestly there are a few good tracks, but for me it lags too much, yes there is lots of experimentalism but that is not always a good thing, I think Last Broadcast and Some Cities were Classic albums, but this album definitely doesn't have me pressing repeat, catch the Sun was really good but the rest fell on deaf ears.. I'm glad they developed into the band they are and their last album Kingdom Of Rust is another excellent effort with many catchy songs i.e spell bound purchase LB SC and KOR but only purchase LS if you want to listen to a lot of musical experimentation

I rarely write reviews with such enthusiasm but this album is highly underrated, this guy is so talented, I also listened to the Beady Eye, which had some good songs too, but this album is very upbeat and more addictive, I like the Beady Eye's first effort but Noel's is definitely one to listen to the music accompanied by his powerful song writing skills are if anything understated yet brilliant, this guy is truly talented and I would thoroughly recommend you buy this album, an instant classic!!!
