Easy to read and just makes you want to get up and get going on 'stuff'. Loads of good ideas and practical tips with a really excellent and well researched, well backed up first chapter that lays out the backdrop of what's going on in the world. It should be on the present list for ALL your friends and family.

3.0 out of 5 stars All the glitz but a bit unbelievable., 4 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This was OK. Rather blitzed up, hyped up floss. Lacking substance & the characters behaviour was not that convincing. Library scene particularly out of context. Like it was just stuck in there to fill up an episode & to supposedly give us an insight into another side of Frank Underwood's character. Didn't work for me!

Love this. Great cliff hangers, excellent acting from the leads & well acted pathos moments. More well written, well produced, well acted series like this please!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 4 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Homeland - Season 2 [DVD] (DVD)
After Season 1, expectations were high. Poor start, the plot doesn't hang together & Damian Lewis's acting is wooden & totally unbelievable. As is the relationship between Brody & Carrie. Not convincing. What a shame this doesn't fulfil the promise at the end of Season 1. Won't be buying Season 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Season 1....., 16 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent, gripping. Twists & turns &, as always, HBO throw in lots of never black & white, never straightforward ethical issues. Characters are never wholly good or wholly bad. Real characters. Looking forward to Season 3

Being Sarah: A True Story About Choice, Control and Breast Cancer
Being Sarah: A True Story About Choice, Control and Breast Cancer
by Sarah Horton
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling story, written in a clear, 'no frills, way, 8 Dec 2010
I couldn't put this book down once I had started it. Sarah describes her journey through diagnosis & treatment of breast cancer in a truly compelling way. You really want to know what happens next & to find out if Sarah will succeed in her fight to find the right treatment choices. You really feel that you are travelling alongside Sarah, experiencing the frustration & the fatigue; the depression & the isolation; the lows & the highs that come from the small successes hard won & hard fought for. Directly written in a 'no frills' manner, Sarah shares with us some inside information on the world of cancer diagnosis & treatment as viewed from her very personal experience. We meet the 'good' guys & some of the 'guys' who seem oblivious to the fact that there is a real person, with real needs & views, behind the label 'cancer patient'. After her harrowing journey, Sarah turns to the question of cancer prevention...or lack of it & asks why so much effort & money is ploughed into diagnosis & treatment & why so little is done to prevent cancer occurring in the first place. A great read. A good story. I can't wait for the next instalment.
