5.0 out of 5 stars Great improvement on the 50mm MkII, 27 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This lens is a real gem in the Canon line up. It's currently the cheapest EF lens and yet it is one of the best. Image quality is excellent across the aperture range and the build quality is much better than the previous 50mm EF MkII which had a horrible sloppy manual focussing action and a plastic mount. Focussing on this lens in autofocus mode is fast but not silent - it's actually quite noisy for a STM lens. Manual focus is via the reasonably wide manual focussing ring which when turned actually activates the STM motor to focus. It is focus by wire in effect and for me a little clumsy but it works OK although the camera has to be "live" to be able to focus the lens. There's no distance scale though. The lens mount is now metal. All in all a great purchase. I love the fact that you can achieve limited depth of field with this lens at wide apertures and as you would expect it's great in low light and when using flash. It's also really small and light so you can squeeze one in to your camera bag and hardly notice. Being a fixed focal length it means you have to use your feet to zoom and it gets you thinking more about composition so it's a proper photographers tool. Love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fifth the price of a Canon unit but every bit as good., 19 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought this to use with my EOS700D. Fit and finish is very good although the non-rubberised plastic is slightly shinier than the EOS700D body plastic. It has all the same buttons and dials as the Canon unit and performs as expected. Importantly, the second shutter release on the grip is pretty much the same sensitivity as the normal shutter release so this makes it really good to use in portrait mode. As ever with this type of grip, you get to fit two batteries in the camera rather than one so you can shoot for longer. Handling for me is greatly improved, especially with long or heavy lenses. An absolute bargain. Why Canon charge so much for their grips is beyond me. This is a fifth of the price and does the job perfectly. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy little device for checking our motorhome is level., 15 Mar. 2016

Handy little device for checking our motorhome is level. Attached to the floor of the garage, tucked away in a corner it gives a quick visual check to see if the van needs to be levelled when we arrive on site. Works a treat. Cheap as chips.

MegaGear ''Ultra Light'' Neoprene Camera Case Bag with Carabiner for Canon EOS M, Canon EOS M2 with 18-55mm Lens (Black)
Price: £14.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Offers decent protection from scuffs and scrapes but perhaps not drops and falls., 11 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As long as you keep the lens hood on either the 18-55 or 11-22 lens (reversed for storage) this is a perfect fit. Without the hood it's a bit of a sloppy fit. Decent quality and pretty cheap. Does a decent job of protecting the camera and lens when I throw it in a rucksack or day bag but I don't think it would offer a great deal of protection if you dropped the camera on to concrete or rocks as the neoprene is quite thin. The carabiner went straight in the bin; it was rubbish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but too expensive., 11 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's a battery so not a lot to get excited about. Frankly too expensive but at the moment none of the third party batteries work properly with the EOS 760D as Canon are up to their old and sneaky tricks of making sure the camera can tell if a non-Canon power pack is installed and giving error messages or not providing full functionality if one is. This would not be such an issue if the 760D wasn't so power hungry, but with Wi-Fi / NFC turned on it chews through a battery so you're almost obliged to buy a spare.
