1.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't install despite numerous attempts, 10 May 2014
Couldn't install this printer on either a Windows XP or a Windows 8 computer despite nearly a dozen attempts. Each time, the installation disc transferred the necessary files to my hard drive and announced that the installation had 'finished', but when I searched my hard drive there was nothing in the 'printers and faxes' section so when I tried to print nothing happened. My brother is a software developer with 30 years experience and he couldn't install the printer either. I couldn't find any tips on how to solve this problem on the internet but did see that quite a few people had had the same problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars best album of the 80s?, 25 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Miasma (Audio CD)
Don't have the CD so am basing this review on my old LP copy which doesn't include the extra tracks. The late 80s were a great time for British psychedelic music of the heavy variety (Morticians, SunDial, Spacemen 3 etc.) and I reckon this here album might just be the pick of the bunch. Tuneful well crafted pop songs are interspersed louder tracks and it's those glorious loud tracks where the damage is really done - Wild Mind, Wild Afterthought, Newgate Wind, Maybe and Confusion Days (not sure why a previous reviewer thought the first two of those were clunkers but did note they also gave it a deserved 5 star verdict). You might see a few comments here and elsewhere of the album being recorded in a bedroom - that's completely irrelevant, Frond could record these songs in a portaloo and still make 'em sound good.

5.0 out of 5 stars informative, well written and good value, 20 Mar 2013

This book is both very informative and excellent value for money at under £5. My company has recently re-launched its website using WordPress so I thought it wouldn't hurt to make sure we are doing as much as we can SEO-wise. The book is well written and easy to understand and will definitely make a difference to our search engine rankings. The book also points you in the direction of many useful free tools that will further enhance performance. I probably receive about 30 spam e-mails each week advertising `expert' SEO services - I know not to touch these people with a double-length barge pole but what I didn't realise was that I could do the job myself for under £5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pantastic, 15 April 2012
This is easily the best frying pan I've used in 30 odd years of domestic cooking. The picture doesn't do justice to the ultra thick and solid construction - if a bomb went off in my flat, I reckon this pan would survive unscathed amidst the pile of smoking rubble. The straight vertical sides provide an absolutely vast flat cooking area so you can cook plenty of grub in one session. The detachable handle comes in handy too, giving you the option of shoving this monster in the oven or under the grill should the need arise. Some may wince at the price but I'd say it's a bargain given how often it'll be used and how long it'll last. Prior to buying one of these belters, I eyed up the competition and saw that Selfridges were selling flimsier pans of comparable size at approximately twice the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you only buy one CD this lifetime..., 15 Jan 2012

This review is from: Jack Ruby (Audio CD)
This CD is an absolute monster. What we have here is one of the most significant archaeological finds of the last twenty years. This isn't a reissue as none of these tracks, or indeed any tracks by Jack Ruby, have been released before. Tracks 1-4 date from 1974 and are pretty great - it's a noisy New York amalgam if guitar, bass drums and brutal synthesiser with the singer sounding like a bit like a surly Lou Reed- not a bad thing at all. Tracks 5-8, were recorded in 1977, with only the guitar playing remaining from the original line-up but it's these later tracks are where the ante is upped and the damage is really done - you haven't heard a guitar played like this before. Excellent sound quality throughout as well - these `songs' may have been recorded 35+ years ago but they could have been recorded last week.

1.0 out of 5 stars deflated, 14 Jan 2012

This cushion seemed to be just the ticket to ease back pain while sitting at my desk at home. However, less than 6 months after purchase it either developed a puncture that I can't see or the nozzle is no longer as airtight as it should be - it's difficult to tell which part of the cushion is at fault. Each time I blew the cushion up it deflated again within a few minutes. The cushion didn't leave my home, hadn't been near any sharp objects and didn't go near any aeroplanes - it was only used in the mildest of domestic settings. Disappointing.

5.0 out of 5 stars LSD, Health Food and Hard Labour, 27 July 2011

This is a cracking good read. Fielding has led an interesting and adventurous life and has an excellent way with words with which to describe it. He's an intelligent and self-effacing chap, qualities which help give a balanced view to the sometimes volatile subject matter. The book also serves as an amusing insight into the occasionally haphazard and amateurish world of drug manufacture in Britain during the early to mid 70s. The book covers the first half of the author's life up to his release from prison in the early 80s. There's talk of another book detailing subsequent (non drug-related) adventures in Spain, Malawi and France to follow - an automatic purchase if this is anything to go by.
