Great!, 3 April 2013
Great litttle gadget throwing out a lot of light and sits perfectly well on top of my Kindle. While in India in a beach hut it served well as a night light too if I had to get up in the night. I find the Energizer Lithium batteries last ages and don't have any problem with flare, plus, it's really compact and travels well. Recommend!

Great sequel to The Russian Concubine, 3 April 2013
This certainly didn't disappoint as a sequel. It was just as immersing as the first book so if you've read that then definitely read this. If you don't know much about communist Russia you soon will and all set against an ongoing love story and the search of an imprisoned father. Great.

Looked cheap. Overpriced with the shipping., 3 April 2013
I was disappointed when I received this. The image shown is better than the real thing which I thought looked cheap; too shiny with cheap sparkly crystals. I gave it to a friend who quite liked it and wanted a handbag hook (which are really useful, by the way!)

Very enjoyable book!, 3 April 2013
I really enjoyed this book; so much so I then went on to read the sequel "The Concubine's Secret' as I really had to know what happened next. I didn't give it 5 stars as it's not a 'stunner' like a handful of books you come across once in a blue moon, but I fail to see how you wouldn't really enjoy reading this great story. Recommend!!

Easy reading; hard to put down., 3 April 2013
A well written well observed, sad and sometimes funny story on a subject I wouldn't ordinarily explore but now have a little understanding of. The characters are all believable and likeable and the book has a good pace throughout. It was a very easy read and while not 'one of the best books I've ever read' (eg.Birdsong) it was really enjoyable and had a satisfying ending. There's nothing to dislike about Me Before You and I would recommend as a great holiday or bedside read. Don't be put off by the subject matter - the two main characters are ballsy and funny - I laughed and I cried :)

Delicious!!, 14 May 2012
If like me you're trying to cut down on meat but always get stuck for vegetarian recipes which are quick and easy to make and taste delicious....this is the book for you! I made the butternut squash soup and the cheese & aubergine bake for friends at the weekend and they all devoured it. Similarly the sweetcorn fritters are ridiculously moreish so be warned. These really are simple easy recipes, simply explained and all accompanied by mouthwateringly gorgeous photographs. This is one book which won't be gathering dust!

Easy, entertaining read., 24 July 2011
This was my first Kindle purchase for 49p so in a way I didn't expect much. In fact, I really enjoyed it and finished it very quickly. It may not be a great literary work of genius and I doubt I'll remember it for long but it had me hooked from page one. A really easy , entertaining and amusing read; well constructed and darkly funny. This is a good book which I looked forward to picking up every night; great for a light holiday read.

Started early...took another book!, 24 July 2011
I've read a few Kate Atkinson novels and really enjoyed them but I found this book tedious, boring, and slow. This is the least gripping book I've read in years and I've now resigned myself to donating it to the charity shop, unfinished. I felt no attachment, sympathy or empathy with any of the characters and the story drags on into oblivion leaving me feel a little frustrated and annoyed. I'm more than half way through and it's not getting any better or any more engaging. Don't bother!
