5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest piece of literature ever. Honestly!!, 7 Feb. 2004
Only five stars for THE GOSPEL!!!
Forget all that trash like "Women are From Mars...." or whatever it was called. This is what every man should read so he knows what to aspire to, and what every woman should read to understand what her man is trying to aspire to (but inevitably failing).
More meaningful than Camut, Genet and Kundera put together. A thing of sheer delight!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rib-tickling suspense at its best!!, 7 Feb. 2004
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If your idea of the perfect film is to be laughing out loud one minute, then jumping behind the sofa, a chill running down your spine, the next, The Cat and the Canary is the film for you. Bob Hope has never been funnier, with some classic throw-away one-liners, and Paulette Goddard stunning as the damsel in distress (though it is more often Hope that is quivering in fear). The house and bayou scenery are eerie, the music spooky, and the baddy, or baddies, genuinely scary. One scene in particular, with Goddard being stalked down secret passageways is more frightening than anything from supposed horrors in the 1970's and 80's.
If you ever wondered where the writers of Scooby Doo got most of their ideas from, then look no further than this classic!!
