Once again an excellent book of intrigue in Florence, and the Squadra Mobile in particular, from Michele Giuttari which follows on from the rest of his books. Like the other books I had to ration myself to how long I sat reading it to make sure I didn't finish it all in one go!! Even the ending leaves you in suspense for the next thrilling instalment of the political ins and outs of life in Florence!! Very well recommended.

I already had the original cds so I wasn't too sure what the remastered ones would soud like. No need to have worried they are brilliant and the clarity of the sound on these discs show what you were missing from the originals. A must for any diehard Scott Walker fan

The use of the Seiko Concise Oxford Electronic Thesaurus ER2100 did not get off to a good start! The item is supplied with a battery but on trying to get started it was found that the battery was 'flat', but after making a million pound raid (only kidding) to our local Sainsbury to buy a new battery and the fitting of same the ER2100 burst into life. The ER2100 is easy to use and does what it says on the box. However, although holding a large number of words it does have what I consider a few omissions - for example when looking for a five letter word for 'sword' and inserting a couple of letters already available it did not come up with 'sabre'. There have been a few other cases where this has happened. The words are those that come up regularly in crosswords and are not exactly a 'rare' word which I would not expect an electronic thesaurus to have in its memory. I have been generous with the marking as I consider it nearer to a 4 star than a three star. I used to have an ancient first generation electronic 'Rogets' thesaurus which only very very rarely got defeated to which I am comparing the ER2100. All in all a good little machine but be prepared for its limitations - and have a stock of batteries to hand, just in case!!

Totally agree with all the other comments made about this product in previous reviews. I needed a bag which was slightly larger than the one I already have, but not so big as to require a weightlifting course to carry it. Strangely enough, what with all the bad weather we have had in the UK recently (summer 2012) have yet to try it out in extreme conditions!! A great buy - highly recommended - but then what else would you expect from a Lowepro product!!

The Boss who commanded me to purchase this CD says that it is brilliant - so what else can I add to that!!

Like its sister book on MI5 this is as detailed as it can be on such a subject as national security, however it is written in such a manner that it is fairly(!) easy to read. However my recommendation is not to try and read it all at once but to do it in bite-size chunks!! What does come through, as in the MI5 book, is that it is a wonder that we got any intelligence at all in the very early days where 'career' diplomats didn't think it was the done thing to spy on other people - much like those admirals who thought the use of submarines was underhand!! In view of the current fiscal problems it is interesting to note that there were money problems with financing MI6, and MI5, even back then. I have yet to finish the book but my impression so far is that the UK was very lucky to get any information at all in the early days and it was down to a very few people with the foresight to see that such an organisation was needed, both in war and in peace time. Also intriguing were the battles between the various factions to gain control of what would become MI6 - Foreign Office, Navy, Army being the main contestants - which took up a lot of time which could have been used more constructively. The book also shows where possible the courage of those actually gathering intelligence in hostile environments, but also where people were keen to sell information on their own country for cash.

A good informative read which gives some idea of what was/is involved in the gathering of intelligence.

Because of the way the book is written, it is difficult at first to get into the book as it jumps back and forth between each Walker Brother. However, once you get used to the style it is an interesting book with a slight bias towards Scott Walker, but that is probably due to the fact that Scott has had a varied career which has been longer than either John or Gary. A worthwhile addition to any Walker Brother fan's library.
