Creative EP-630 Noise Isolating Earphones (Black)
Creative EP-630 Noise Isolating Earphones (Black)
Price: £22.80

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent- whilst they last, 25 April 2012
In terms of sound quality, comfort and price, these are fantastic. However, they are so unreliable its better to stick to another pair. My first pair lasted 6 months, and as i liked them so much i bought another 3 sets. The second pair lasted 2 weeks, the third pair lasted a week and the 4th pair not quite a month. Therefore, as good as the sound is, they are just too easily broken to consider a good investment. Usually its the one ear that will lose sound, then the next day the next ear goes. Personally, i find that the:

are just as good in terms of sound quality, and are built in a much more sturdier way, meaning they last longer.
Best to avoid these.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the funniest films i have ever watched, 14 Sept. 2011
This has to be one of the funniest films i have seen in a long time. Its daft, its rude, its ridiculous, its childish, and its absolutely hilarious. If penis jokes arent your thing, then go watch something else. This film doesnt take itself seriously, and neither should you. Anybody with a sense of humour will find the entire film amazing, and im not suprised it got negative reviews, as most critics will be too boring to find something like this entertaining. For the rest of us normal folk, however, its genius. I finished watching it about an hour ago, and im still in stitches over some of the scenes in the movie. Simply one of the funniest films out there, go and watch it!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most disturbing- and best- books i have ever read, 27 July 2011
This review is from: Pet Sematary (Paperback)
Well i very rarely write reviews of books, as i feel everybody has their own taste, but i'm making an exception for this perticular novel as i have just finished reading it and have been utterly blown away.
I won't describe the plot in too much detail, mainly as its quite hard to go into too much detail without giving it away, but what i will say is this; Louis Creed and his family move into a new house next to a busy main road, and are introduced by a neighbour to a pet 'Semetary' in the woods near the house. But it's no ordinary 'semetary'. I won't say any more than that, but if your a fan of Stephen King then you know what to expect. If your not a fan, then make an exception for this one book. Lots of books describe themselves as horror, but lets face it, very rarely does a BOOK actually scare a reader. But this Book. Wow. If you want a book that will scare you, and leave you utterly disturbed, this is it. Forget 'The Shining', 'It', and all his famous others. This is his most disturbing horror novel.
Numerous times during reading it i had to take a time-out just to get reacquainted with the real world, as it truely sucks you in, all the way from the first page to the shocking climax. And many times i thought i had guessed where it was leading, only to be fooled by twists and turns on every corner.
Its the perfect length, just under 500 pages, so is a comfortable read, isnt too complicated or in-depth. Just a gripping, powerful, and disturbing read. If you want a book that will truely send shivers down your spine, and leave you debating 'what would i do in that situation?', then this is the book for you! Read it. Trust me. You won't be the same again!

Music For The Motion Picture Into The Wild
Music For The Motion Picture Into The Wild
Price: £6.83

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, touching album, 31 Dec. 2010
After watching the film, which is good but nothing special, i found myself drawn to the music throughout, so bought myelf this soundtrack, and wow! every song is moving, with its own unique mood and feel, with the stand out track having to be "society"-love it! however all 11 songs are brilliant, and it should definitely be regarded as a must-purchase.
Being new to this type of music, does anybody have any recommendations to other albums/artists with this type of sound? thanks :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good....but only half is "factual", 6 July 2010
I notice lots of people are criticising this book for confusing two legions- Caesar's "Legio X Equestris" and Augustus'"Legio X Fretensis".
However, as long as you are aware of this it shouldnt cause a problem. Up to Caesar's death it is a terrific, and factual account of the Legion's ups-and-downs throughout Gaul and the civil war. After this, it becomes merged with the history of the "Fretensis" legion, and then eventually becomes an acount solely on the deeds of this other Legion. However, it is all factual, and extremely interesting, and as long as you are aware that the last half is about a different Legion, it shouldnt stop you from buying this book, which is extremely interesting and a valuable resource.

3.0 out of 5 stars the cricket game we have been waiting for....with flaws, 20 Aug. 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This game has one major flaw....and that is that it is far too easy! as i write this i have just bowled Australia out for 39 on "Hard", which is the hardest the game can get. But put that to one side for now.
In terms of gameplay, this game is really fun! batting takes its time to get used to but when u are used to it you will slaughtering the bowlers all over the field. However be prepared to become very addicted to the "loft" shot, meaning you will end up losing a lot of wickets! The other day i got bowled out for 48 in 2.4 overs, with boundaries flying everywhere (although to be fair the total score was pretty abysmal!)..Timing is difficult at first, and i still havent got the hang of batting against the medium pace bowlers, instead skying the ball to the covers every other ball!...
In terms of bowling, there is one problem, and that is the A.I...it is far far too easy. Like i said above, i just bowled Australia out for 39, primarily due to the ease of wickets coming from bowling outside stump and edging it to slip....as well as the ease of bowling the team out, in twenty/20 tournaments the A.I just dont get going! India made 78-3 off their 20 overs, and i got their from 5 overs...This is on "Hard" as well! Another thing i have found is the ease of which you can take wickets by using spinners...Every one of my Ashes victories have been won by Graham Swann, with most of the batsman attempting some kind of backward square cut to a delivery on middle and off stump, meaning LBW's are very frequent.
The most difficult aspect of the game is by far the fielding. Catching is basically a game of hit and miss....get lucky and you will time it right, but if you drop him you can always bring on a spinner!
Overall this game is good, but just too easy. The "Hard" difficulty makes batting very troublesome, but if you are skittled for 100 then you will still have a first innings lead, due to the ease in which you will bowl the opponents out.
There are a few flaws in the game. A big one is the number of times u will have a batsman caught, but he wont be out as the little catching game isnt triggered, which can be bery annoying when Ponting is caught behind only to still be bowling to him the next over. The other flaw is quite a strange one. The first bowl of every over the bowler will move closer to the stumps, and then during his run up will hit the stumps. The batsman wont play a shot and that will be that. However, if you bowl straight and bowl the batsman, he is then out! Despite the ball being a no ball and the batsman not playing a shot. This can be quite fun, as it is possible to get a wicket at the beginning of every over!
All in all a good game, but once mastered, this game will be flung aside due to the ease in which you can play it. Worth 25 quid (Asda are selling it or this price) but dont pay any more for it

4.0 out of 5 stars great potential...but right now isn't the game we have all been waiting for, 5 Jun. 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Sims 3 (PC/Mac DVD) (CD-ROM)
There is just so much to say about this game that i dont know where to start.
There are a huge number of new features. You can now create almost any sim, and have their weight level however u like, which is sure to create some amusing moments for the younger fans. The main new addition is the role of the neighbourhood. Instead of being limited to your lot, you can now explore the whole town whilst your sim is having a bath, and have them get groceries from the shop, have a luxurious massage at the spa, as well as work out at the gym. This is a brilliant addition and creates endless possibilities for your sim. There are also a number of changes with careers, including new careers and different branches available when reaching a certain level. However, i am yet to experience these as i stuck with the traditional "athlete" career!. You now follow your sim to work where you can choose how they go about their job. All these new features make this game a superb follow on to the previous two games.

HOWEVER, there are a number of problems that affect the game, and are sure to infuriate a lot of fans, such as myself. The biggest problem is the fact that the game is constantly stop and start, due to the number of features brought into the game. Fans wanting a smooth game where they can just enjoy it will be dissapointed, as the game is constantly jumping. Another feature, which is my main problem, is the fact that the "fast-forwarding" aspect has been slowed down. This, combined with the stopping and starting of the game, means you can be waiting for as long as 10 minutes for your sim to get a night's sleep.
I would also reccommend people check their computer capabilities first as well, as the game requires a lot more from your machine than previous titles. This could contribute to the slowless of the game, although gamers with top quality computers have suffered the same problem, meaning gamers with a computer that only hits the "minimum requirements" will experience huge delays during gameplay.
Hopefully a patch will be out soon that will fiz up the minor problems, because apart from those problems this game is great. It is just a shame that the game cannot be appreciated as much as it should be due to the slowness of it.
Right now, this game is only for long-time fans, or those of you with top spec computers that wont feel the effects of the stop-starting that others will, but when the patch that is needed is released, this will surely become one of the best sellers of all time!

5.0 out of 5 stars comical masterpiece, 24 Nov. 2008

Having just lost out on getting tickets to see him live, i was counting the days for this dvd to arrive. Having been a huge fan of Lee's, owning his boxset with all his peformances, i didnt think anything could top his XL tour. Boy, was i wrong!
This performance is amazing. There just isn't another way of putting it. The show itself is 2 and a half hours, which just goes to show how much commitment Lee has towards his performances. He had the audience in stitches, and there is no doubt you will be as well at home. The XL tour is fabulous, but this tops it. His views on stuff from self serving counters, to his wife's habits, will have you begging for more.
The only dissapoint with the dvd is the bohemian rapsody isnt included on it, which is a huge shame as it was nice to hear he was performing it again. But apart from that, this DVD is perfect, with a 13 minute making-of video which is very entertaining as well.
This has got to be one of the best comedy shows of all time, and you can see why it is the UKs biggest tour ever.
Anyone who is a fan of Lee's work, buy this! Any one who isnt sure about him, buy this! You won't be dissapointed! Great value for money from one of the greatest comedians of all time.

4.0 out of 5 stars cod 5, 19 Nov. 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Having been a huge fan of these games, i could not wait for this to come out, and i was perticularly pleased to hear it was going to be back in world war 2.
After playing this, i have to say it is as expected a great game. The most notable feature is the addictive online mode, which is as great as ever. Gameplay is excellent, and the graphics sum up next generation gaming these days.
However, i dont think this is as fun as cod 4. I was the first person to applaud them going back to ww2. However, the weaker weapons are a huge factor for gamers who like the online side like myself. If this had been the follow up to cod 3, then this would be a magnificent follow up. But i am afraid modern warfare is much more entertaining, due to the added technology. But as a follow up to cod 4, it doesnt quite leave me as breathless as its predecessor.
However, this is a great game, dont get me wrong. Buy it, and you will be entertained for hours.
Campaign: very entertaining.
Online: stick to cod 4

4.0 out of 5 stars comedy masterpiece, 19 Nov. 2008

after becoming a huge fan of his after his performances on live at the apollo, mock the week, the prince's birthday bash etc, i could not wait for this dvd, and it didnt disappoint. A superb performance with some hilarious sketches, such as his young son "adolf", breakfast buffets and farm traffic.
This dvd also includes his live at the apollo performance, which is worth a tenner in itself. Both performances are superb, and i cant wait for his next tour, in which i will surely be getting tickets for.
