2.0 out of 5 stars It's probably not worth it., 16 Dec 2014
No matter how much you want a cheap computer, this should not be it.

For the first few weeks after buying it in-store (PC World) I noticed that the screen wouldn't be as quick to turn on as it used to. Eventually, it took several reboots to get the screen to start working again, and then, roughly two months later, it refused to boot up at all. As a student I needed it for work, so obviously couldn't spare the +two week repair time, so I opted to reset the PSU... or something. Anyway, I pulled a plug inside the machine, a la a Youtube video, and it worked (I recommend sending yours off for repair if this happens - I was up against it so I needed it ASAP, and besides, it was knackered anyway so I didn't really have anything to lose). It's now working with a few random screen flickers here and there, and occasionally the screen shuts down mid-essay. From other reviews, this isn't an uncommon problem. However, I can't give it one star because the screen is sharp and has excellent viewing angles, and the keyboard is fantastic.

So yeah, go get the new HP Stream 11 (I hear the keyboard from this one carried over to that) or the Dell Chromebook 11 if you want something cheap, this really isn't worth the faff.

The prose is beautiful, at times precise in its imagery, but at times verging on the neologism and nonsense. The form is tedious after a while, and you will have to read it again to understand the plot (and then again to remember it), not only this but the rotating gets really annoying. It was novel in House of Leaves because it was sparse, although I guess I should have known what I was getting into with a title like this...

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly decent, 18 Aug 2013
They're quite decent speakers, however, the volume setup is odd... you have to scroll down to turn the volume up, which, to me, makes no sense. Great quality and look good.

Great movie if you want totally mindless humour. Definitely one of the best films to come out of the nineties, although I daresay that isn't that a great accolade.

Fell apart a few weeks after I purchased them. Granted, they were pretty comfortable and relatively cheap, but still, falling apart with normal use is completely inexcusable

2.0 out of 5 stars too try hard, 25 April 2013
it has the potenial to be better than it is, instead, the poet wallows in the pretense of self deprecation and satire, and generally makes you wonder "why did he bother writing that?"

The imagery in this story is second to none. Sure, some of the language is archaic, but with the Kindle, I can find out what they mean using the in built dictionary and Wikipedia function.

1.) The screen has an evenly distributed light which makes reading in all lighting conditions comfortable and easy

2.) The text rendering on most ebooks is astounding, with little pixelation

3.) It's light, allowing reading in whatever position one might find themselves in when reading a particularly engrossing book

4.) It's pretty cheap!

The only downside I could find with it is the fact that the accessories are hideously expensive, and Amazon don't ship a wall charger, instead opting to charge (hah) you £12 for one.

Works great, the main light is powerful, the dimmer light is good for reading books at night, and the flashing light is great for raves!

Seriously though, it's good, the casing is solid (aluminium, probably), and the mount is excellent. Fantastic value for money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bloody awful, 10 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The LEDs work well, they seem bright enough, but everything else is terrible. The casing supplied was different than the image, no doubt due to complaints that it couldn't adapt to larger seatposts. Unfortunately, this has meant that it's too loose, and just hangs there limply, almost as if it understands how pitiable its life is, but isn't sure what to do about it.

Secondly, the button broke. There was only one button (and Christ knows how you're meant to change modes - it just sort of cycled through the modes randomly), and it required constant depression to function.

On the plus side, at least it was supplied with batteries...
